We crashed and burned like a falling plane. Hard and fast with an inevitable explosion. Another few weeks together changed my life the way the first did. At twenty-four, I became naïve again. I became a dreamer again. A believer. And walking away hurts just as much as it did seven years ago.
But over doesn’t have to mean over-at least in Aaron Stone’s mind. His pursuit is relentless, his determination unwavering. He’ll go to any lengths to keep me and prove that I belong to him. Unfortunately, love isn’t easy, and whether or not I forgive him is irrelevant to his past catching up with us. Once again, our relationship is haunted by a secret, one that could destroy everything, and the secret is born from the need to protect the other…
But the tables have turned, because the secret is mine.

for Very Wicked Things
Book
#2 of the Briarcrest Academy Series
by
Ilsa Madden-Mills

I got out of the shower
and dressed hurriedly, anxious to get back to Cuba.
The door opened, and
like he did it every single day, he stepped inside the steamy bathroom.
“Think I need a shower,
too,” he said, his fingers easing off his football practice shirt.
What?
Now?
Trying to play it cool
and failing miserably, I moved my eyes off his naked chest and checked out his
track pants and the obvious bulge he sported.
Oh.
Did his lower body match the rest of him? Was it all sinewy muscle and big?
Just, yeah. That
thought got stuck in my head and went round and round.
“You staying?” he asked, a grin working his
face. Pleased at my open admiration, probably.
“No,” I said, but made
no move to go. ‘Cause I had no shame when it came to catching a glimpse of his
muscular body.
“Good,” he said, his
smile broadening.
He pivoted to turn on
the shower, and my eyes betrayed me again, admiring the muscles in his back,
checking out how they twitched and rippled when he moved. Football and rowing
had been good to him. My fingers itched to know how they’d feel underneath my
hands. Which was stupid because we had nothing in common. Not a rich Highland
Park boy and a poor girl from Ratcliffe.
And most importantly,
he was a player, not to be trusted.
He hooked his thumbs
into his pants, paused a moment—maybe waiting to see if I’d run from the room?—but
when I didn’t budge, he slid them and his underwear off. My mouth opened. Cuba
Hudson, the most popular guy at Briarcrest was standing right in front of me,
naked and beautiful. And like the cocky bastard he was, he posed for me, his big-ass
biceps and chiseled abs making me vibrate all over. Need for him slammed into
me.
Did
I say he was hot?
Well, I was wrong.
He was off-the-charts,
no-holds-barred, freaking going make-me-lose-my-mind-right-there delicious. The
ultimate man-candy, the kind I knew to stay away from, yet here I was, ogling
him.
“Still leaving?” he
asked huskily.
“Any minute,” I said in
a weak voice, backing up to the wall and propping myself up. “Just chillin’.
Shower wore me out. I might need to hold this wall up for a sec.”
“I want you to stay,”
he said, eyes at half-mast, glowing with heat.
“Why?” I said, aching
to touch him. But that was crazy. I was a virgin, and I didn’t know jack about
touching a guy’s you-know-what.
“Look at me, Dovey.”
I tore my eyes from his
manhood, blushing.
His eyes burned. “There’s
a sense of urgency in my head. Like our time is limited.”
I nodded. Yeah, same
here.
“And, I’ll be honest, I
don’t want to rush you, but I’m dying to sink into you. I want to set you on
fire with need for me.” He ghosted his hands over the steel rod between his
legs. Once, twice, and—holy shizzle, he didn’t stop.
My chest rose faster
and faster, and I tried to chill-out, but I couldn’t.
He lowered his voice. “Kiss
me again, Dovey.”
Oh. “That’s a terrible
idea, Cuba. Cause you’re naked, and I’m turned on because you’re naked. And
you’re touching yourself. And you’re
naked
.” I sucked in a sharp breath. “Not a good combo. Odds are we’ll end
up in that shower together or back in your bed doing the double-backed monster.”
“Then join me in the
shower. I’ll be good. For you.” He arched his back, his hands still doing that
back and forth that was driving me insane.
Liar,
liar, pants on fire
, I thought. No way he would he be good.
Because he was the Heartbreaker
of Briarcrest Academy. And one wicked boy.

Divergent series – Veronica Roth

series

Divergent Synopsis

In Beatrice Prior’s dystopian Chicago world, society is divided into five factions, each dedicated to the cultivation of a particular virtue–Candor (the honest), Abnegation (the selfless), Dauntless (the brave), Amity (the peaceful), and Erudite (the intelligent). On an appointed day of every year, all sixteen-year-olds must select the faction to which they will devote the rest of their lives. For Beatrice, the decision is between staying with her family and being who she really is–she can’t have both. So she makes a choice that surprises everyone, including herself.

During the highly competitive initiation that follows, Beatrice renames herself Tris and struggles alongside her fellow initiates to live out the choice they have made. Together they must undergo extreme physical tests of endurance and intense psychological simulations, some with devastating consequences. As initiation transforms them all, Tris must determine who her friends really are–and where, exactly, a romance with a sometimes fascinating, sometimes exasperating boy fits into the life she’s chosen. But Tris also has a secret, one she’s kept hidden from everyone because she’s been warned it can mean death. And as she discovers unrest and growing conflict that threaten to unravel her seemingly perfect society, Tris also learns that her secret might help her save the ones she loves . . . or it might destroy her.

5 out 5 stars!

Insurgent Synopsis

One choice can transform you—or it can destroy you. But every choice has consequences, and as unrest surges in the factions all around her, Tris Prior must continue trying to save those she loves—and herself—while grappling with haunting questions of grief and forgiveness, identity and loyalty, politics and love.

Tris’s initiation day should have been marked by celebration and victory with her chosen faction; instead, the day ended with unspeakable horrors. War now looms as conflict between the factions and their ideologies grows. And in times of war, sides must be chosen, secrets will emerge, and choices will become even more irrevocable—and even more powerful. Transformed by her own decisions but also by haunting grief and guilt, radical new discoveries, and shifting relationships, Tris must fully embrace her Divergence, even if she does not know what she may lose by doing so.

4 out of 5 stars

Allegiant Synopsis

The faction-based society that Tris Prior once believed in is shattered—fractured by violence and power struggles and scarred by loss and betrayal. So when offered a chance to explore the world past the limits she’s known, Tris is ready. Perhaps beyond the fence, she and Tobias will find a simple new life together, free from complicated lies, tangled loyalties, and painful memories.

But Tris’s new reality is even more alarming than the one she left behind. Old discoveries are quickly rendered meaningless. Explosive new truths change the hearts of those she loves. And once again, Tris must battle to comprehend the complexities of human nature—and of herself—while facing impossible choices about courage, allegiance, sacrifice, and love.

Told from a riveting dual perspective, Allegiant, by #1 New York Times best-selling author Veronica Roth, brings the Divergent series to a powerful conclusion while revealing the secrets of the dystopian world that has captivated millions of readers in Divergent and Insurgent.

My Review

I’d been meaning to read the Divergent series for months now. I hate going to see a book film adaptation without reading the book, so when the release day was nearing, I got to reading the series (and maybe just a little bit persuade by Holly to begin it too). This review will be about the three books, seeing as I just continually read one after the other, and to be honest, with so much packed into each book, what happened in which book is kind of a blur. So bare with me on this one, it may be a bumpy road in terms of this review haha.

If you haven’t heard of the Divergent series, firstly, where have you been? And secondly, you do know the film is out right? Anyway, for those who don’t know, the series revolves around a young woman called Beatrice. She is in Abnegation, one of the five factions in her ‘city’. Her faction are known as the ‘Stiffs’, for obvious reasons, and they are selfless, always helping and putting other first. When you are 16, you take a test to determine which faction you ‘belong to’ and thus at the choosing ceremony you can either stay with your faction or move faction, depending on the results of your test. For Beatrice her tests are inconclusive which means she is a Divergent and that is dangerous.

On choosing day she has a tough decision, stay with her family or be who she truly is and change factions. She changes and that day changes the rest of her life…and thus begins a romance, a war and a lot of trying to stay alive and keep the ones she loves alive, even if it means dealing with the consequences of her actions and hurting the ones she loves too.

I really liked Beatrice/Tris as a heroine. We first meet her, she is clumsy, Abnegation is all she knows but deep down she knows she is different and when she finds out she is Divergent and chooses the Dauntless, that is when her life changes for the best and worst. We watch her grow up so much throughout the book, from a timid and intrigued young women to a strong and fearless young women.

She pushes herself to the limits and you actually feel proud of her. She really is a Dauntless fighter, so brave and fearless and stupid at times, but that is what makes Tris, Tris. She truly is Divergent and the more we know about her, the more you can see that. She had bits of each faction in her, bits that save her life time and time again but bits that also put her in danger. We watch her grief, we watch her sacrifice but most of all, she does this to protect the ones she loves, protects those who cant protect themselves really. She puts herself out there and although they come with consequences, you know that Abnegation has and will always be implanted in her. To make her selfless in terms of what she does.

I liked knowing she was in love with Four. I did like these two together. They brought out the best and worst at times but over the books, I just wanted Tris to let Four go. Although I felt bad for him, because Tris didn’t trust easily with strangers and thought things through, Four jumped straight in and this was the cause for nearly every argument – that and Tris’ death wish. But how it ended between them, my heart was skipping and I knew it really was the end. Over the three books you are not only invested in the storyline, but in Tris and Four too and my head kind of bleed when it was all over.

I had a theory about Tris in Allegiant. This theory was that deep down she was still Abnegation and she was selfless and when I turned the page and got to the part that everyone is majorly pissed at, I felt a bit of pride for actually being right about it. I knew what happened in Allegiant as before reading them, I wasn’t going to, and my friend Anna Bloom told me what happened (She refuses to read the book hahah) I just didn’t know how it happened. But to be honest with you, I didn’t feel anything towards what happened. It really is for shock value, and it could have ended up differently in my opinion, but then fair enough on Veronica, she wanted to rock the boat and make us see that not everything can have a happy ending. I’m trying hard not to give away what happens so I’m going to keep my mouth zipped now.

This is a little bit controversial because so many people adore Four/Tobias. I actually really liked him in Divergent. He is strong, a bit of a leader, keeps to himself (because of his Divergence) but when Tris comes along after the Choosing Ceremony, she seemingly puts him in a spin. Despite being a bit of a wanker towards her, you can see he is trying to help her through initiation, knows she is Divergent and wants to protect her from the people wanting to kill them. He opens up himself to her, takes her in his fear landscape – which he has never shown nor taken anymore before – and you can see a romance brewing between them. You can see she has effected him and they are both great together – they both have the need to fight, to be together, to protect each other from the war brewing and you know that one cannot live without the other.

BUT, this is a massive but, as the series went on, my love for Four turned into annoyance, turned into dislike, especially in Allegiant where I wanted to smack him nearly every page.

I did sob my heart out for the last few chapters. I was texting Anna Bloom about the event that takes place and when Four arrives, the floodgates opened and I didn’t stop crying until the very end. Even after it was the in the front of my mind, replaying. Despite not being a fan of the end, I don’t think there could have been another way to end it – unless Veronica didn’t write that massive event in.

I just cant wait to see how this all pans out in the film versions. There is so much that happens that I’m hoping they do a great job in portraying as much as they can, as accurately as they can in Insurgent and Allegiant. Here’s to the next films!

Excerpt

It was chilly in the basement. It was unfinished—concrete floors and walls, and a couple of shelves along one wall. It appeared to be the same size as the ground floor, but there were no walls. It was wide open. Mark wheeled out a few space heaters that had been hugging the wall, plugged them in, and turned them on. I stood next to one before deciding to go back upstairs to grab my coat. As I passed Diesel, he gave me a hateful look and that made me want to leave for good. So I grabbed my coat upstairs, but instead of heading back to the basement where the guys were tuning their instruments, I went into the bathroom and leaned against the counter, trying to decide if I wanted to find a place to sit tight or if I wanted to be brave and sit downstairs with a look of defiance on my face. Not sitting in the basement would be giving up. It would, on some level, be cowardly, and I knew that until his friends accepted me, I’d have to get used to their coldness. While it upset me on a personal level, I could understand where they were coming from when I really thought about it. Either they thought I broke up Kage’s marriage and I was here flaunting it (before the wedding corpse was even cold, so to speak) or they simply didn’t like a woman barging in on their guy time, especially practice time. If that was the case, I didn’t want to sit in there. I knew they were creating and working, and I didn’t want to interfere with it or make them feel awkward. If those had been the only vibes I thought I was getting, I could live with it and I’d even offer to stay out. Unfortunately, I was positive that wasn’t all I was feeling.

So I looked at my face in the mirror as though reasoning with myself, weighing the pros and cons that would influence my decision. I felt like Scarlett in Gone with the Wind, getting dressed before Melanie’s birthday party, only I didn’t have a Rhett demanding that I had to go. I was my own Rhett too, chiding myself for not moving, not going in there and dealing with whatever cold shoulders they wanted to give me. It was then, as I was focusing on my breathing and working up my courage, that I heard a tap on the door. I cleared my throat. “Yes?”

It was Kage. “Everything okay in there?”

I hadn’t lied to this man yet, and I wasn’t about to now. “No, not really.”

“Are you sick?”

“No.” I faced the door and turned the knob, peeking my head out.

“What’s wrong?”

I opened the door farther, inviting him in. I lowered my voice. “I feel really awkward around those guys. I know they resent me, and that’s fine, but I can’t decide if I want to hang out in the basement. I don’t know if they’re hating me because they think I’m the reason why you broke up with Fay or if they just don’t want me to watch you practice.”

He wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me close after closing the door behind him. “Or maybe they’re pissed because I got the girl.”

I raised my eyebrows and smiled in spite of myself. “Oh, that’s not it.”

“Maybe it is.” I knew he was full of shit, but I didn’t mind when his lips brushed mine or when he drowned me in a kiss. It was easy to forget what I’d been feeling just moments ago. “They’re just going to have to get used to you.” He scanned my eyes until he could see my understanding, and then he kissed me once more. “Was it my imagination, or did you like my hand on your leg at the dinner table?”

If I’d blushed easily, my cheeks would have turned pink then, because I was surprised at how well he’d learned to read me in such a short time. My voice sounded hoarse and foreign to my ears when I responded. “The naughty side of me wanted you to keep going.”

I should have known better than to think life was just going to be simple from here on out. I knew from firsthand experience that right when you get comfortable and content those bitches Fate throw a curve ball into the mix. I wasn’t expecting the possible tragedy that we are faced with. I’m the strong one, the one that has to help the rest of them through the tough times, but I don’t know how strong I can be for them through this…

———————————————————————-

My Review

I’ve been with Demon’s Wings from the very start. From the first book, where I became hooked on Emmie and Nik’s story to the last book where we see all the band members loved up and their significant others pregnant or with a child already. I cannot tell you enough times my love for this series. Each book gets better and better and my love for all the characters overflow in each book too, the more we get to know them – (although I have to say Drake is still my fav).

Terri Anne has created an amazing series, a loving group of characters and an even more outstanding backgrounds for each band member and each girlfriend/wife – despite the fact that the band members and Emmie all grew up together, they all had different backgrounds to one another but yet they are brothers in every sense of the word. They will do anything for each other and will be there at the drop of a hat, especially for Emmie, whom they have protected since she was a little girl.

If you have read the books or just read my reviews, you will know that each member has overcome their past, with the help of each other and their girlfriends/wives. They have found The One and your heart becomes so proud of them for struggling yet overcoming their past, for finding love and not letting it go. And now we are on the sixth and final book for Demon’s Wings it made my heart tingle knowing how happy each member are, to see them come so far in their lives over the past years and to see them content with their love and where they are up to.

The Rockers’ Babies is just that. We see Lana and Layla pregnant, in which we saw in The Rocker That Needs Me (Lana and Drake’s book), we see Shane and Harper blissfully happy and engaged, we see Nik and Emmie and Mia all cute and Jesse and Layla and Lucy one happy family with 2 more on the way. And then we have Axton (from OtherWorld) pinning for Dallas and what he stupidly lost.

I loved that Terri had alternative POV’s from each character so we were kept up-to-date on how they were feeling, how their lives were going especially when a dramatic moment occurs. When this certain storyline was mentioned, I knew something was going to happen. My heart was pounding, I was turning every page hoping to God nothing would happen, and every little twist and turn proved it couldn’t be stopped. Dear gods, I was on tenterhooks throughout this part of the book!

I teared up a lot during this book. From happy tears to sad tears, you really go through the motions and not everything is plain sailing, oh no. As i’ve mentioned above, there are certain sub-storylines with each couple that will tear your heart apart, but it makes them stronger together and alone and you know that they can get through anything with their close-knit family around them.

Gods, I adore this series and Terri so much. I am so glad I came across this series back last year and I am so happy to have found a series that has a special place in my heart. Terri’s writing has gone from strength to strength throughout the series, she has put some much effort into each member’s book and I cannot wait for Axton and the OtherWorld member’s books now.

But I hope that the gang are still mentioned, I’d love to see where they are in their lives.

He’s a reckless, happy-go-lucky, silver spoon fed pain in her ass. Everything about him makes her more and more confused. Unfortunately they both donate time at the same Group Home. If she wasn’t afraid of flunking, she’d be long gone. She hates that she’s attracted to him almost as much as he hates that he’s attracted to her–and she can tell, especially since their first encounter ended up making her knees so weak she couldn’t form coherent sentences for weeks afterwards. But the closer she gets to him, the more confused she becomes. He isn’t who he says he is, and he’s hiding something big.

What happen when two worlds collide? Two worlds that never should have met in the first place? Some secrets are too big to be hidden forever–the only question? Will his destroy everyone he loves? Or finally bring about the redemption he’s been craving for the past four years?

Everyone has a secret…What’s yours?

My Review

When I read RUIN, I knew that Gabe would steal my heart, so TOXIC was not going to be left for months on time, hell no. It was going to be read the second I finished RUIN. I definitely gobbled this book down and it caused me numerous tears, heartache, different theories (one which I actually got right!) but I also got my laughs, my smiles, the banter and the amazing friendship from Kiersten, Weston, Gabe and Lisa too. God I love these characters.

Toxic is much more deeper (if it can be because Ruin ruined me) than Ruin. From the synopsis, we know that Gabe is hiding his identity, so in a way we know that probably isn’t his name. So what is? What is he hiding? Throughout the book, until it is revealed, you are sat trying to work out who Gabe is, what his secret is, why he is hiding. I unlocked one name, one secret and when that was revealed, it still came as a surprise because I hardly ever guess right.

Gabe, as we know, is the happy guy. The guy who sleeps around because he doesn’t drink anymore. The guy who can banter like hell, can be a sarcastic idiot but the guy who is protective of his friends, who will do anything to make sure they are okay, and would die for them – much like he told Wes in Ruin, but underneath he is broken, and depressed and feeling guilty for his past.

It’s hard not fall for Gabe (maybe more than Wes) because you feel for him, you go through the motions with him and dear god, his life is just one torment after the other. You have Gabe with the secret, Gabe with different identities, Gabe with his friends and Gabe with Saylor. But who is he truly?

You watch conflictions, you watch love and hurt and pain and it all rolls into one massive fuckball when the identity comes to life. You get frustrated with him but in the back of you mind you know why he is doing it and you understand it so much throughout the book. But despite the lies and secrets, Gabe is completely loyal to his friends and your heart will break for him but then be put back together in the form of Saylor and the gang.

Enter Saylor. She comes flying, literally, into Gabe’s life when his past is lying on his shoulders, when his past is moments away from unravelling. They don’t get off to the best of starts, but they seem to be integrating into each others lives more and its hard to keep their feelings from each other. I definitely thought Saylor was going to be weak, that she wouldn’t stand up to Gabe and his mean words in the beginning but I was wrong. She did and I love that about a heroine who doesnt shy away from biting back.

The more time Gabe and Saylor spend together, the more feelings are transpiring. They connect firstly through music and that is the one constant between them. The one constant that could express what they were both feeling, especially Gabe with his guilt and sorrow. Saylor was strong, she was there for Gabe when shit went down and she was completely selfless – which I admired from her. Not many people could do what she did, not many people would stay but she did and she helped him with everything, with the pain and the guilt, especially through the goodbyes.

She taught him to love again, to be okay with being your true self after so many years and to accept yourself for who you are. She really is inspirational.

Toxic is raw, its tear worthy, its heartbreaking but it also comes with pages full of love. Love for Gabe, love for Saylor, love for the gang and the little secret hiding. Rachel draws you completely in with her writing, you feel everything, you connect on a personal level and you just have to keep turning pages; turning pages to find out more about Gabe, about his secrets. Such a beautiful and emotional book and you all should get reading this series ASAP.

Delve into the lives of such amazing characters and get your heart broken and then fixed up once again. Rachel, I cannot wait to meet you at the Edinburgh signing. Be aware of The Book Lovers 😉

A Note from Laura:

Hey guys! I am so excited about Easy’s book that I can hardly wait for August to get here! Easy’s character was a total surprise to me. When I initially plotted out the series, there were four surviving members of the Army Special Forces team and therefore I planned for and sold four book in the series. But then, when I sat down to write Hard As It Gets, all of a sudden the story demanded there were actually five guys, and Edward “Easy” Cantrell was born. And I’m so glad! Because Easy’s character is a totally tortured hero, which I adore writing! So I’m super happy that we added his story and this novella into the series, and I can’t wait for you to learn about Easy in Hard to Hold On To!

Is it August yet???

Ruin (#1) – Rachel Van Dyken

18134249Synopsis

I’m not your typical girl. I’ve been running away from the memories that haunt me for so long that depression has become my only comfort. I was content in the darkness…until Wes Michals offered to be my light.

I didn’t know that time wasn’t my ally — that every second that ticked past was one step closer to the end of something that was beginning to mean the end of myself. He tried to warn me. He promised me all he was able to offer–each moment as it came–but it would never be enough.

Sometimes when you think it’s the end, it’s only the beginning. Wes thought he could save me, but in giving me everything, he ruined me. Because after one kiss, one touch, I couldn’t–I wouldn’t ever be the same.

And from that moment on, his heartbeat became my own.

My Review

I’ve had Ruin on my kindle for months now. When I did my Top 13 Books of 2013, my Twinnie had it down as one book and seeing so many people talk about how amazing this book was that when Fearless and Toxic came out, I knew it was time to get to know Weston and Keirsten like many others have.

Can I just say I LOVE THIS BOOK! It is most definitely a 5 star book from me. The banter between all the characters had me in stitches. The emotional scenes had me crying (I wasnt that far in and I was on a train with tears streaming down my face) and my chest hurting and I was messaging Karli Perrin asking her if something drastic happens – i’m not going to say what because its a part of the storyline, but I was worrying, and frightened and needed to know, but alas she wouldnt tell me.

I cant tell you how much I was on tenterhooks just waiting for the inevitable to happen, for the life-changing (okay, many not life-changing, but for the full on shock and sobbing to occur) scene to happen. For me to break down, find out what the hell has been happening and try to remain calm and hope for the best. And when it did happen, yupp you can guarantee I was sobbing. Such a The Edge of Never moment for me!

Ruin shows the journey of Kiersten and Weston. Both have painful pasts. Kiersten has nightmares about death and losing the ones she loves, Weston is harbouring a pretty massive secret, from virtually everyone apart from his family.

But when they meet, Weston helps Kiersten out, making her overcome her fears and in itself, they are both falling for each other yet Weston is on borrowed time. It’s a story about overcoming fears, battling for yourself and finding love, even in the darkest of times. They both ruin each other.

I adored Kiersten. She was so innocent and sweet and I suppose (stereotyping now) that if you are from a really small town, where everyone knows everyone, it would be hard to do anything when all eyes would be on you. I loved how she trusted so easily, how she was naïve to an extent but also how she was a scared eighteen year old who had yet to experience what most teenagers had. But I suppose what she was harbouring is enough to make someone think negativity about life and about themselves.

I loved the fact that although she didnt really understand, she knew love. She knew that any time she had with Weston she would savour it. She didnt have a clue that something was wrong with him but she treasured the little things. She wrote a list down of things to accomplish and that, in itself, shows how brave she is. Some are trivial, some are huge but each other proved she was overcoming her fears. She had such strength in her and especially when everything went down, of course she faltered but I was so proud of the way she handled it all, handled herself, handled Wes. She is one awesome heroine.

Oh Weston. I LOVE this guy!! He is flirty and funny and has so much banter, but you know he is also harbouring a secret. You kind of unravel bits and pieces about what is wrong throughout the book and your heart starts racing. One part involving Wes is the part I started crying on the train. I had to remotely wipe away my tears before getting off at my stop. He is the most loveliest guy and despite being an RA (not quite sure what that is) and with all the ladies loving him, there is something about Kiersten that he is drawn to – although he doesnt date Freshmen, but he cant stay away.

I really liked his strength in front of Kiersten, despite the fact he didn’t feel strong in himself. He helped her get out of her shell, and in return it felt like he was killing himself with wanting her but knowing his really couldn’t. I admired his bravery, I admired everything about him.
He was a cheeky chappy and with everything happening to him you cant help but command him. You feel sick at points, you cry for him, beg for him but through it all, he’s caring and protective and still thinking about Kiersten, and not really himself. (You will understand when you read Ruin) I loved his love for his redheaded girlfriend, and his inspirational quotes about life and fear. It’s no wonder Kiersten fell for him, I would be head over heels for him.

The two of them together? Sweetest couple ever. The banter they have together, the nickname they have for each other. Cutest nicknames ever and very suiting! The way they are together, they way they protect and care and love for each other is something else. And the way they help each other, consciously and unconsciously makes them both stronger as people.

I loved the ‘supporting’ characters – Gabe and Lisa – who were brilliant. They are cousins and Lisa is Kiersten’s room-mate but they become so close and the banter between the whole group will have you in stitches and laughing through tears. Gabe has his own book – Toxic – which I cannot wait to get started with. I adored him in Ruin, the way he protected and cared for Kiersten and I would love to know more of his background and get his own happy ending.

Havent read Ruin yet? I have no idea why it took me so bloody long! But if you are umming and ahhing on your next read, then PICK THIS BOOK UP 🙂
