My Review

I had the privilege to Beta read The Time Until and the first time around, oh my god, I sat reading it, sobbing my heart out from start to finish. Both happy and sad tears. My emotions were all over the place and that in itself, to me anyway, is a book that I love. You make me cry, I will love you forever.

I have read this book three times and each time is just as emotional as the last despite knowing what is going to happen. Each time a little has changed and I think the final version is just pure amazing. Casey will have you hooked from the very start, wanting to know the beginning of Sam and Alan, wanting to journey through their time line, know about their friendship and how they go to the point they are at now…with Sam fighting for her life and Alan, his life also altered but he is petrified of life without Sam. Casey has a way with this story that you just cant and don’t want to put it down. You NEED to know what is going to happen, need to know their background but need to know if Sam lives or dies…and if she dies, how Alan is going to handle her death.

They have pretty much been inseparable since they were 5, and at 20, that’s a hell of a lot of time and years spent together. To lose her would kill him. My heart was hurting, my chest was hurting, I cried so hard that my make-up was running down my face and this book was all I could think about…and this was only when I was Beta’ing it, so I damn well know just how brilliant this story is if I was feeling all these emotions right from the beginning.

I don’t want to spoil the book, as I want YOU to read it and because so much happens during the time Sam is fighting for her life, from the past and the present of these two, how their families are coping and how their friends are there for both of them throughout the event. You find out so much from Alan, about his and Sam’s past, about how they became friends, everything they have been through together and separate and despite Sam being in a coma, you learn so much about her, her personality, her love, all from Alan and the flashbacks to the past and of course, how he talks about her in the present. You can really see how much he loves her, how he cant imagine life without her in it and how scared he is to loose her. It cant be an option to him, she has to live and be with him.

Casey makes you go through the motions with your emotions. I literally felt everything whilst reading this book, and bloody hell, what a debut it is. It is firmly on my ‘favourites’ shelf, not just of 2013, but of every book I’ve read. You can tell just how hard Casey worked on this book, to how he wanted it to be portrayed and read and he was spot on with everything – from the emotions, the storyline and especially how he keeps you hanging right until the end to see if Sam lives or dies. I was consumed within this book, needing to get to the end to know how it ended and it really is a great ending to the story of Sam and Alan.

If there is one book you buy today, then make it The Time Until. You will not be disappointed, you will sob your little heart out so hard but it’s worth every single word to get to the finish, to see how it ended….

So to you Casey, from Sugar Boobs, thank you so much for letting me Beta read this and everyone is going to love it, I just know it 😀 I look forward to reading more books from you in the future!

Sam’s POV of the ‘First Kiss’

“Samantha can you go see what’s keeping Alan for me?  I think he went to get cleaned up by the concession stand.”  I nod my head and finish putting the folding chair into the back of the SUV.   I walk up to the stand, but don’t see any sign of Alan anywhere.

“Where did he go?” I ask myself.  Heading to the back of the stand, I hear the rustling of clothes.  I roll my eyes a bit and make my way toward the sound.

“Hey, Al, everyone is wa—”

HOLY SHIT!

Alan is standing there with his shirt halfway off his body and my heart has just died.  This is no pansy boy here.  No sir, this is a man.  A ripped, chiseled man.  Sweat beading down his chest causing his body to glisten in the fading sunlight.  I bite my bottom lip in an unconscious attempt to bite his stomach.  I shouldn’t be staring at him like this, but I have to.  My eyes are drawn to his stomach muscles as he flexes them slightly.  Despite knowing it’s for my benefit, the gesture makes me want to touch him.  His goal-keeper shorts hang low on his hips, showing a tantalizing view of his underwear – which hang just as low as his shorts.  My breathing freezes in my lungs and the slow burn is a welcome reminder that I’m alive and not in heaven.

I want this to be real.

He finishes taking off his shirt and his biceps work under his tight skin causing my temperature to sky rocket.  My feet move on their own and I suddenly find myself standing in front of him, eyes locked on his Spartan like abs.  He looks so delicious I can’t stop from feeling his muscles.  Slowly running my fingers along the hard edges of his brawn.  He shivers slightly at my touch and I fight to control the sudden surge of excitement from my knowledge that my touch causes that reaction in him.

Touching his body causes my body to heat more.  My core is so hot I’m surprised my pants haven’t started on fire.  The hot moisture causes my clothes to cling in a strangely enjoyable way.

If he was to touch me like I’m touching him I’d most likely explode into a nuclear explosion – or a supernova.

“Where did these come from?” I ask at barely a whisper.  It’s the loudest I can muster since my body has decided to stop lubricating my throat.  My eyes never leave Alan’s stomach, I’m not confident in my ability to control myself if I look into his eyes.

My control is fragile as it is right now.

“Where do you think?” he ask me back. “I run every day.  I have to stay in shape for soccer.”

Of course, I knew that.  I’m not an idiot, despite evidence to the contrary at the moment.

My other hand joins the first one in its exploration of Alan’s amazing new body.  I start to calm down a bit, but I can still feel my cheeks burn.  I risk a glance up at his face and immediately realize my mistake.

He’s majestic in his look of adoration.  The lingering drops of sweat make his face glow in the sunlight at his back.  He’s beautiful and all mine.  That thought brings a smile to my lips.  Looking at his lips I barely have time to ask myself what they would taste like before I got first-hand knowledge.  Alan’s body moves so fast I don’t even know what to do.  His heavenly body slams me against the wall and the pleasure of the force nearly causes me to moan.

Alan’s never been this forceful and dominating.  It feels amazing.  His powerful arms – which I’ve never taken the time to fully enjoy – hold me firmly but gently against his body as our lips explore each other.  The incredible taste of his warm lips cause me to forget to breath and I have to break away briefly to catch my breath and my bearings.

Alan has different ideas and my mouth in suddenly invaded by his tongue.  My eyes roll into the back of my head at the new sensation.  It’s intense and powerful, but also gentle and considerate.  He’s taken control but not enough to make me feel pressured.  I feel like I could say “stop” at any time and there would be no hesitation.

I decide to give in to him completely at this moment.  I want to see how far he’s willing to take this new and very much approved attitude.

I start to slip from his grasp and before I can readjust he grasps my ass to hold me up.  The gesture causes a surge of lust to shoot through my wet body.  The sudden emotion and response makes me gasp slightly and moan loudly into his mouth.  My mind starts to fall into bliss, but I can make out a wicked smile on his lips before I disappear.  Wild anticipation intrudes on my bliss as I wonder what he has in store for me now.

His tongue slides slowly down my neck and the resulting goose-bumps send chills down my back and more lust to my already willing and waiting core.  He pushes against me harder as he sucks on my collarbone and feeling his obvious excitement makes me lose even more control.  I can’t control my strength when I crush his face into my chest.

His need hits a certain spot on my wetness and I nearly pass out from the sensation.

“Oh my god,” I scream in-between breathes.  Oh my god is right…  this feels godly.  Why does it ever have to stop?  I might just shatter into a million pieces if he does.

Alan takes my mouth again and I enjoy the swollen feeling that comes from it.

“I love you,” Alan whispers into my mouth.

The entire world grinds to a swift and decisive stop.  I remember what we’re doing.

He’s my best friend.

What the hell am I thinking?

“Wow,” a small voice comes from next to us.  Still in a confused trance of pleasure and shock, I turn my head with Alan to see his sister standing there.  Alan jumps away and I immediately regret not savoring his delectable smell and feel before, I miss it now.  But knowing what we were just doing causes me to forget my regret.

We shouldn’t be doing that, ever.  We’re friends not lovers.  What would happen if things didn’t work out?  It would disastrous.  I need Alan.  He’s been my rock and comfort for so long.  I can’t lose him simply because of something like lust I mistake for love.

But he says he loves me.  Is it real love?  How long has that been?

Alan is talking to his sister.  I can’t focus on them at the moment, I’m trying to keep from going crazy from worry.

I can’t lose him.

The thought alone is enough to send fear blasting through my very soul.  My heart seizes in my chest at the potential abandonment.

No, I can never let that happen!

“That never should have happened,” I tell him and a pinch of pain attacks my heart at his dropped face.  This has to be done.

“What do you mean?” he asks me and the hurt evident in his voice cause me to second guess my decision before fear takes over again.  I get up and push his hand out of the way.  Maybe I should explain a little.  He might understand if I tell him my reasoning behind all this.

“Sam?” The pain in his voice convinces me that nothing will help the situation.  I take a step back when he steps up to me.  I’m not scared of him, but his touch will be my undoing right now.  Words start spilling from my mouth with no thought behind them.

“This is all wrong…  We can’t…  I don’t want…” I don’t want to change our relationship.  We can’t do this.  This doesn’t feel wrong, but I think it is.

I have to get out of here before his sorrowful, majestic face cause me to break in two.  I bolt for the car and spend the rest of the ride home in silent contemplation.  We can still go back to how we used to be…

Right?

My Review

Indelible is the first book I have read by Bethany Lopez. I do have the Friends and Lovers trilogy on my Kindle but I have yet to get to it. When I had see this book on GR and read the synopsis, I just had to add it to my TBR list and when I saw there was a tour for it, I really wanted to be a part of it.

I actually read the book in a day. It was an easy read, I pretty much flew through the pages. Bethany writes with an ease, a way in which you don’t stop reading and suddenly you are right at the end, wondering where the time has gone because it only felt like a few minutes since you started the book.

The reason for my three stars is due to my confusion. It probably is crystal clear to other people but my confusion is over the timeline of the story. When everything happened. Was it over a few weeks? Especially when Judd was meeting Sam’s daughter, Karrie for the first time. After everything Sam said about not introducing anyone to Karrie or letting them know about her because she didn’t want guys coming in and out of her life, she certainly introduced Judd to her so soon. Or was it so soon? To me it was, but perhaps to you, it was weeks later. See, I couldn’t get my head around the timeline.

The other fact was the insta-love. One minute Sam doesn’t want anything to do with Judd then the next it’s all rainbow and glitter. But I dont read a lot of books about insta-love so is that what is it?

But despite all my confusion, I did enjoy the book. I liked the strength of Sam – the young mother. The single young mother, whom not only has to care for her two year old daughter, Karrie but she takes classes and is determined to become an art teacher. I was in awe of her, at juggling her daughter and school but she did a great job in doing so. Add in trying to have a relationship too, and you just felt so proud of her for everything she has accomplished in her life. It must be so hard to be a single mother, but she was brilliant. She had help off her parents and her friends so it wasn’t like she was alone in raising Karrie.

Bethany really showed us (Who have no children) just how it is like to deal with a two year old. The tantrums, the tiredness, the not knowing what is wrong with your child. It really puts into perspective just how hard it is for single mothers/fathers bringing up their child(ren) alone. I applaud every single parent out there.

There is a point near the end where i was so proud of Sam. For doing what she thought was right for her and Karrie and for Judd too. She was so courageous in what she did despite the hurt it caused her but what she did was the right thing to do no matter what either of them wanted to do.

Judd was pretty much amazing too. Not your typical baseball player, he has long hair, tattoos and a motorbike yet baseball is something that he cherishes and its important to him. You see him go from a bit of a player to falling in love and being responsible. One night he spots Sam in the local bar with him friend James (a girl) and he knows there is something about her. But she rejects him. The second time is much more nicer and that’s when he wants something more with her. Something that isn’t just a onetime thing. Despite not wanting a relationship – the same as Sam, they pretty much fall into one. As someone who doesn’t read a lot of insta-love stories, I just couldn’t really get my head around the fact that neither of them wanted a relationship yet it ended that way pretty damn fast, but who am I to say what is right or wrong?

He is a sweetheart when introduced to Karrie and you can instantly see how much she will and is becoming a big thing in his life. He treats her with respect and plays with her and you just fall in love with him that little bit more over the fact that although its not his kid, he treats her like his.

Although I didn’t understand why he went from not wanting a relationship to wanting one, I could see him transform throughout the book, as I’ve already mentioned. He turns into someone who is extraordinary. Who is always there for Sam and Karrie and always will be. It was actually really nice to see.

There is a twist in the book that I actually didn’t even guess and I suppose you might not either. But I was so proud of the way Sam and Judd handled it. Albeit they were both angry, they spoke about it, and dismissed this person right away for the way they acted. It was very brave of Judd to do that.

Molly and James – both Sam’s friends were such great characters. They were funny, gave great advice to Sam and Judd (James did) and were there for the two of them, especially little Karrie who was a doll. It’s great when you have friends who will support you and be there for you when things get tough, especially when you have a kid to look after too.

Although I did give this book 3 stars, it is a cute love story. A love story about finding someone who won’t disregard you because you have a kid, who will change because they have found that one they want to spend their life with and the one who will treat someone else’s kid as their own.

Judd and Sam and Karrie are such a cute family that it’s hard to not love the three of them.

My Review

“I promised you forever. When I promised you forever, I promised to love you forever too.”

Being in a long distance relationship is harder than it seems, especially when your boyfriend won’t leave the countryside to visit you in the big city. It took sixteen months for Jen and Carl’s relationship to fizzle out and break up.

Returning back to London ten days earlier than planned, her biggest problem is now her best friends brother – Samuel ‘Bing’ Edwards. Why is it a problem? Because she has been attracted to him for a long time and now she’s single, it’s going to be harder to try and stay away.

Bing doesn’t know why Jen is leaving Devon earlier than expected, but what he does know is that is desperately wants her as his. He’s waited his whole live to have her and over the past two years, since his dad’s 50th birthday and he’s waited patiently for his chance to have her. When he finds out shes single, this is his chance to prove to her he’s not a playboy anymore, he’s changed for the better and he wants her.

Their attraction to each other has been overgrowing for months, and although they throw witty and sarcastic comments to one another, they slip into an easy, yet passionate relationship with Bing determined to show Jen that shes The One for him. End game but how hard will it be to persuade her he’s changed?

Then comes along someone who is always there, stirring the pot and trying to get Bing back. It’s tearing Jen up and she doesn’t know how much she can take – even if she is hopelessly in love with Bing. It comes to a point where she can’t take it but Bing doesn’t give up that easily. He wants Jen forever and he is going to show her just how much she means to him.

What Jennifer finds out is that Samuel doesn’t give up. Especially when she is involved.

Emma Hart never fails to deliver. I have become obsessed with her books and with her along the way too. I can’t praise her enough.  I don’t know how many times I can tell her I love her and her books without sounding completely stalkerish… but I DO! Never Forget was the first book I had read by Emma and since then I have been hooked by her books and her writing style. The way she can have me hypnotized by the plot, the characters, falling in love with them, wanting to smack them, laughing, crying, cringing (In a good way), oh holy, I am like a fangirl with this author and I know she totally knows it too. I even squealed when I was mentioned in the acknowledgements. THAT mention gave me a totally massive grin on my face. So thank you my love!

Always Remember takes place a year and a half after Holding On. We last see Bing and Jen in a compromising position. Did they or didn’t they kiss? Well you find out in this book. And no, I’m not going to spoil it and say, you’ll have to read and find out yourself.

Bing drives down to Devon to pick up Jen due Lexy request. Bing doesn’t know about the break up and Jen isn’t in the mood for spill the beans. She just doesn’t want to be in a car with Bing for 6 hours. She is sexually attracted to him and being so close will be torture, so in true Bing and Jen style, they spit witty comments back and forth to one another until the snow gets too bad to drive and they have to stop for the night. That isn’t good news for Jen because it means spending the night next to Bing as they have to share a bed. No, it’s not good at all as she wants to jump his bones.

During the days before Lexy and Alec arrive home, Jen needs Bing to take her food shopping and he happily obliges. They have a snowball fight and that is where everything changes for them both.

Over the course of the book you watch Jen and Bing grow and find love together, despite the obstacles that are put in their way in the form of a jealous ex. At one point it all becomes too much for Jen to handle. Too much to continually fight against Heidi, even though Bing has no intentions of ever going back to Heidi. His love is too strong for Jen, but when it becomes too much, Bing has to fight to keep Jen his. There is no way in hell he is letting her go. He’s waited years for her to be his and now he’s got her, well she is not leaving him. Not ever.

And Sam knows the perfect way to prove to her that she is the end game.

Can Jen be real? I want her as a friend so badly. She is still sarcastic and witty and hilarious with the things she comes out with not just aimed at Bing, but towards Lexy and Alec too. I will never stop laughing at her comments. They are too comical! But you can always see shes scared to be with Bing. Scared she will be another notch on his bedpost and she doesn’t know if she can trust him. He needs to prove that she can. You can obviously see why though, from Never Forget and a bit of Holding On, but you see her grow and blossom and alright she has insecurities about being with Bing, once they get past that, her journey is one that you’re proud of. She still has a smart and dirty mouth on her but you still her fall in love, find her ‘bada bing’ and that is what I loved reading about. She may have lost her way for a while but her determination and protectiveness/possessiveness comes out in full force. I freaking love Jen and she and Bing are definitely made for one another. They are both potty mouths but together, they calm each other down and you see the love pouring for one another throughout the book. (They still bicker though, but that just makes them, them.)

Now Bing/Sam. Oh Bingaling! Can he be my boyfriend? I won’t tell the other 5000 boyfriends I have haha. Ohh he made me fall in love with him. He is definitely not the playboy he was 2 years ago.  He’s changed over the years, not wanting to whore around and wanting to prove to the one girl he’s always wanted that he’s different, that he can and will be a great boyfriend, if only she will let him. He continually proves to Jen that he’s a changed man, that she is his one. The one what he has always had a crush on, the one he wants forever. He will fight for her and prove just how much she means to him regardless of the bitch wanting them to split them up. No, no one will ever come between them. Ever. And he even demands everyone to stop calling him ‘Bing’, his name is SAM. This just proves how much hes changed during the past 2 years.

“My name isn’t Bing. It’s Sam…I stopped being Bing the second i met you. A real man gives up one night stands for the one girl he cant live without, and you’re that girl, babe. I gave it all up to give you forever.”

You see his romantic side come out and to be fair to him, although he doesn’t really know what he’s doing, by Jesus, the lines he comes out with are completely swoon-worthy (Even if sometimes they are followed by smutty comments – just the way we love him.) The way he treats Jen, and just the way he needs and wants her, oh God, I was falling in love. I keep saying it, but they really are each others ‘bada bings’. They both change for the better, make one another calmer but freaking smoking in and out of the bedroom.

Bing/Sam is still like Jen. Witty, sarcastic and smutty and of course, you all know how amazing their banter is together and when they are not together too. You will be laughing, swooning and blushing at the comments he comes out with. If I was Lexy I would be smacking his arm at the things he was saying in front of her. But it’s in all good humour though and that is what makes Jen and Sam, Jen and Sam.

Bing/Sam was with Heidi for 6 months. But to be fair to him he only went back because the sex was good. It wasn’t because of the bleach blonde bimbo. She was a bitch. She was just on a long list of girls on his bedpost. But now she is back and wanting Bing back. She wants him for one more night and Bing doesn’t want to touch her again – not even with a barge pole. He only wants one blonde and that is Jen but Heidi is making is hard on Bing and Jen and is like a boomerang and keeps coming back, no matter how many times they tell her to F**k off. She continually messes with them one too many times and that is when Bing has to fight to save his relationship. I loved that Jen put her in her rightful place towards the end, when everything worked out for her and Bing. Heidi definitely deserved a bitch slap (Not that it happened). I would be punching her face for being so pathetic enough to want Bing back after he makes it clear he doesn’t want her and for being petty and doing anything she could do to break them up. Oh gurl, you be gettin’ bitch slapped right now!

The alternative POV’s are something I absolutely love reading in books. Each character had their own personality and you could easily distinguish them, which I am so happy about as sometimes male and female POV’s in books can be a bit funky, but Emma knows how to write both male and female POVS and pure brilliance. I loved knowing Sam’s feelings and emotions for Jen and vice versa for Jen. You really get to see inside their heads and know just how much they have liked and now love each other.

Alec and Lexy as much as me? Well YAY because my fav couple is still the couple I fell in love with. They are perfect and still hopelessly in love with one another. They are a big help with Bing and Jen throughout all the drama in the book and you can really tell that they are protective with one another and the people they love. They are still the cutest couple EVER and I loved how they ended up in the epilogue. They truly got their happily ever after.

Oh god, I am not going to tell you what my favourite scene is because it is one massive SPOILER and I am in no way going to give away what happens. Let’s just say I was giddy and I cried and I cried laughed and although I loved the whole book, this is a pivotal point in their relationship and by god I freaking loved the outcome of it. They both go on a journey and for it to end that way, it was the best thing since sliced bread.

The sex scenes are pretty hot if I say so myself. There are a couple of scenes that will get you hot under the collar…they certainly did with me! Jen and Sam’s sexual chemistry is booming; its like a magnet between the two of them. You could see it slightly in Never Forget and certainly in Holding On but it only intensifies in Always Remember. When you read them, you will act like Jen, all breathy with Bing is speaking close to her. *Shiver* I sure as hell was biting my lip and there was one really intense sex scene which I was like just…holy shit yes.

It was the perfect book to finish off the Memories series. The epilogue will have you grinning at how far both couples have gone and how they are still the same people even after growing up. They still have their own personalities that distinguish they all but they still have the same over-powering love for one another, sibling love, best friend love and of course pure love for their significant other. It truly is a perfect send off knowing just how happy both couple are and knowing that they really are each others ‘bada bing.’

For those of you who have yet to discover the wonders of Emma Hart and her Memories series, then check out my review of Never Forget and Holding On. You won’t regret buying these books because you will be given romance, laughter, tears, sexy times and a whole lot of love in these British novels!

And who doesn’t love adding British book boyfriends to their boyfriend list?

17201104Synopsis

Front Man Leo Nash from the world-famous rock band, Nash, is the last person on earth Samantha Williams would trust. She’s already learned about loving a celebrity the hard way and isn’t signing up for another lesson.

Every time Sam gives Leo attitude, he wants to knock that chip off her fragile little shoulder. What the hell did he ever do to her, anyway? He’s not used to women treating him like he’s poisonous, and he isn’t about to let her run away every time he gets close. He’s had enough of people running away to last him a lifetime…when this one runs, he gives chase. But, catching Sam isn’t as hard as he thought.

The sexual attraction between them is so thick, Sam can practically hold it in her hand. There’s no way she can deny herself the promise of pleasure being with Leo would provide.

But, pleasure always comes with pain and when secrets are revealed and trust is challenged, who will run and who will chase?

My review

“I’m going to make love you you until you’re shaking and don’t remember who you are.”

Okay, so I have to be honest here, Rock With Me is the first book I’ve ever read of Kristen Proby. I didn’t actually know it was part of a series when I signed up even though I have the first three books on my kindle; I just haven’t gotten around to reading them yet.

In my opinion, you don’t particularly need to read the first three, but it could help you when the couples are showcased in the book. It took me a while to kind of know who they were and who they were related to, but after that, there are bits of their past conjured in so you know a feel about each person mentioned. I will go back and read the first three books though, just so I properly know the back stories of each character.

Other than that, when I worked out who was who, I was less confused and more focused on Leo Nahs (Meg’s brother) and Samantha Williams’ (Luke’s sister) relationship as it is their book!

For a first reading of Kristen Proby, I was hooked. Flicking through page by page, engrossed with the story of Sam and Leo, of following their story, their journey, knowing about them and their life. Everything about them both was awesome and uh, I just want to lick Leo’s stars please!! It was sexy, it was filled with laughter and tears, it was family and friend orientated but most of all, it showed us that when you find that love, there is nothing that will break it. I adored Rock With Me! And Leo…oh can I have him please? *sigh*

Leo and Sam don’t get off to the best of starts. Sam is attracted to Leo but she acts like a bitch to him because he’s her best friend’s brother and she doesn’t date famous people. It didn’t end well the last time she did, so she stays away from him. But consequences force them together such as family events and a flat tire and from then they become friends, going running every morning then breakfast.

Leo is on a break from touring and Sam has lost her job so to keep her mind off searching for a job, running is their thing for a while at least. They get to know one another more and the attraction between them is sizzling. Sam wants Leo to kiss her again, Leo wants to but he doesn’t know how to do relationships but he sees something in Sam that is different from any other girl. But then you have Sam who doesn’t do relationships either, just fuck buddies.  Leo wants in and wants her but it scares Sam half to death. Will she let him?

Of course she does but Sam and Leo are both stubborn asses and it takes a while to let one another in but when they do, they start falling hard for one another. Sam is an independent woman. She doesn’t like people helping her out, preferring to do it herself but Leo wants to help her. He wants to protect her and love her, and he tries to do that without scaring her off. He tries to break in slowly, letting her know he is not going anywhere.

When Sam’s secret comes out, she gets completely pissed at Leo and as a result they both end up saying hurtful things to one another. But Leo isn’t finished with Sam, he’s not letting her go and proves to her just how much she means to him.

Okay, so because I hadn’t met Sam before this book (I’ve read some reviews and she was a bitch in one of the books?) I can’t comment on that and of course, this review is about Sam and Leo now, so it will be about how I met them in THIS book, as it should be.

Sam is a feisty one. She has trust issue due to a past relationship and because of people using her to get to her brother – whom is famous. Because of this, she doesn’t have many friends and prefers to have a fuck buddy than be in a relationship. She’s lonely, she’s stubborn but she is loyal and protective towards to her family, which in turn lost her her job. She hasn’t told them yet though, wanting to keep it a secret and job hunt by herself.

She doesn’t want their charity and doesn’t like relying on them. She feels inadequate to her family as they are all famous and she feels she hasn’t done anything special in her life. But they don’t see her like that at all. She doesn’t see how much she is loved by them all and how much she means to them.

She truly is a kind and good person. She just has insecurities which make her sarcastic and bitchy at times but other than that, Sam is a great character to read and you really do watch her barriers fall down and watch her fall in love. Being in love is an awesome look on her.

Growing up in foster care, it was a tough time for Leo. It’s also made him have turst issues due to the things that happened in his childhood. And this is where he found Meg and protected her with his life. Besides Meg and his band, he has no other family. Leo has made a name for himself as a famous rockstar for the band Nash and has come a long way since his childhood. He has tattoos, piercings and seems like he has a tough exterior but deep down it’s all a front, especially where Sam is concerned.

Leo has never been in a relationship. He used to fuck groupies, but never kiss them or give oral sex. He felt that was too personal, but with Sam he does just this. He truly adores Sam, there is something different about her and Leo likes it. He likes this feeling he gets when he is with Sam. He likes having someone to call his and they have so much fun together, ripping into one another, teasing one another. It was great to see them both let someone in and learn to trust again.

He is just as stubborn as Sam but he knows and tries to break down this barrier and get to her open up to him. He’s falling in love with her and wants to know every single thing about her. He’s never done this relationship thing before but he sure as hell wants it if it means he gets Sam.

Can I have Leo please? Please?

So uhm, I need to mention ALL the sex scenes. Fuck me sideways. Kristen Proby sure knows how to write some freaking steamy stuff. I was fanning myself every time Sam and Leo had sex. Jesus Christ seriously. Leo sure knows the way around a woman’s body and Sam is working it for us girls! Lick those stars girl!! I know all of us envy you and want to be you. Finger licking good. And it’s not just the sexual chemistry, that made them so great together. Their swooning romance and heart-felt moments between the two that grows with both of them. It grows into love, an overpowering love that neither of them thought possible, but together, it is perfect for them.

I loved reading Sam and Leo’s story. Watching their journey together and alone. Rock With Me really is a book you all should get your hands on (And you should buy the other three in the series too). I am going to read the first three books then come back to Rock With Me. I should be more than acknowledged with everyone then, instead of meeting them for the first time in Rock With Me. But never mind, you get over the confusion and just focus on Sam and Leo 😉

AUTHOR QUESTIONS

1. I know you probably get asked this question a lot, but what made you start writing? Did you always want to be a writer?
I’ve written since I was a little girl. One of my earliest memories is making my mom sit at the table with me with a pen and paper, asking her how to spell the words so I could write my story down.

2. How did you come up with the ‘With Me in Seattle’ books?
Wow, this is a popular question during this tour. LOL It all started with CAWM. I hadn’t planned on writing a series at all, but then I met the Montgomery family, and it was a no-brainer that all the siblings needed their own books.

3. How do you come with the plot of your books? Do the storylines just come to you?
I spend quite a bit of time brainstorming with a critique partner. Most of my best ideas come to me in the shower, of all places. I need to keep a notebook in there. LOL

4. How do you pick the names of your characters? And do you spend time thinking of the ‘right’ names for your characters?
They just come to me as I’m writing. There isn’t a magical formula or any real research that goes into them.

5. Out of all the characters, if you could pick one guy and girl, who are your favourites? Or instead, which couple did you enjoy writing the most so far?
My favourite couple is always the one I’m currently working on because I’m right in the middle of their love story.

6. You still have 3 more books left to write, out of these three, which one are you most excited for us fans to read?
Honestly, I’m excited about all of them for very different reasons. There are some surprises coming up that will throw everyone off.

7. For people who have yet to read the series, would you recommend them to begin with book 1, Come Away with Me, or can your books be read as a standalone, despite the returning characters involved in each book?
I do recommend starting at the beginning so you can follow the characters through out the series.

8. Your books involve some pretty hot sex scenes, do you get hot under the collar when you write them?
LOL Sometimes, sure. My characters are passionate, and their love scenes reflect that. Plus, the guys say such amazing things during sex! Swoon!

9. Do you have any more projects in the work after you have finished this series?
I have another project that I’m just now starting. I can’t really say too much about it yet.

10. Have you thought about who you would like to play each character if your books were made into movies?
That’s such a wild fantasy, and there are so many characters. I do have favourites.

11. And lastly, is there a deep, dark secret that you would like to share with the rest of us 😉
If I shared them, they wouldn’t be secrets, now would they? 😉

Synopsis

How long does it take for a long-distance relationship to break down? Sixteen months.

When Jen and Carl put their relationship to rest after Christmas, Jen’s biggest problem is going back to London ten days earlier than planned – and her ever-present attraction to Samuel ‘Bing’ Edwards.

Bing has no idea why Jen left Devon so fast. All he knows is that he wants her as much as he did the first day he laid eyes on her – so spending time with her while Lexy is still in Devon isn’t exactly a hardship for him. When he finds out she’s single, the only thing on his mind is finishing what they started at his dad’s fiftieth birthday party.

Feelings that have been a long time building between the two explode, and they both find themselves sucked into an easy yet passionate relationship, with Bing determined to prove to Jen that she’s it for him. That she is The One.

But in a city like London, the odds are stacked against them, and there’s always that one person ready to stir things up… And Jen doesn’t know how much of that she can take – even for the guy she loves more deeply than she ever imagined, and eventually she breaks.

Bing isn’t down with that. He wants Jen, and he wants her by his side for good.

Jennifer Mason must learn that Samuel Edwards doesn’t do giving up. Especially not when his forever girl is involved.

ARC: A Passionate Love Affair with a Total Stranger – Lucy Robinson

16148167Synopsis

A Passionate Love Affair with a Total Stranger by Lucy Robinson, author of The Greatest Love Story of All Time, is a hilariously funny and gorgeously romantic story about falling in love when you least expect it. Charley Lambert has put considerable effort into achieving a perfect life. She has The Job. The Wardrobe. And The Flat. Her womanising, junk food-loving housemate Sam lowers the tone a bit but that aside, things are peachy. Then she breaks her leg in three places, watches her unrequited love propose to someone else and – worst of all – is forced to hand over her job to her nasty deputy while she recovers. Workaholic Charley fears that she will soon go mad. Desperate for something to do, she discovers her talent for helping the lovelorn online. And then William arrives in her inbox. Within hours of his first email, her world starts to change. Helpless, she watches herself fall in love with this man and begins to realise that she’s not who she thought she was. But will she be brave enough to turn her back on her old life – all for a total stranger?

——————————————————————————————————————————————————————–

My Review
To sum up Charley Lambert in one word, it would be ‘Workaholic.’ Whether it’s her job, or her extra-curricular activities, she never stops and hardly ever sleeps, that’s how busy her life is. You can see how much she wants her life to be perfect for her and she seems okay with being so busy she never really has time for anything else. Her diary is completely filled up.

But when she ends up breaking her leg in three places after an accident and has to give up her job for a few months while she heals, added in the fact that the guy she’s had a major crush on for seven years – Her boss John – has just got engaged, she feels her life is crashing down before her and she will go mad having to ‘relax’ and not keep busy.

After matchmaking many of her friends up and reading an article her best friend Hailey gave her about Ghost-writers on dating sites in America, she decides to start her own site up in the UK. Little does she know how much it was going to change her own life.

Oh GOD! I’m so glad I received an ARC copy of this book because sweet Jesus, when it’s out at the end of this month, you all need to go and buy yourself a copy! This is the first book I have read by Lucy Robinson (and her second book) and I LOVED her writing style. It sucked me in and this book is so SO funny, the swearing adds to the magic of the story and the twists and shocks throughout had be turning the pages at high speed making the plot exciting for the reader. I loved that it’s a story about internet dating because I know people who have set up a profile and I know it must be a bit difficult to convey yourself in messages to the person you’re speaking to. Ghost-writing must be such a fun job to do!

As I’ve said, Charley is a workaholic. She never stops but once she’s had her accident, it’s like her whole world has fallen apart. But starting up the dating website, it seems that she has a knack for helping people find their ‘soul mate.’ I don’t want to give away spoilers, but throughout her emails, they seem to make her think about her own life and whether she is satisfied with the way her life is going. She’s work-focused but now she’s completely frazzled over what to do, whether her work is important to her now and her relationship. It is a journey for Charley and one that ends fantastically for her.

I absolutely loved the secondary characters. Sam, Hailey and Granny Helen especially. They all stole my heart and had me laughing at their actions and comments throughout the book. I felt more drawn towards Hailey, but that’s maybe because I see a bit of myself in her, so I definitely liked reading about her and all her swearing! I could picture me and my best friend being exactly like her and Charley. She tells its straight when Charley because a bit obsessed with her dating site and I think everyone has been there, both in Charley and Hailey’s shoes, which made me relate to her. I especially loved all the swearing! Oh gosh, such a potty mouth.

Sam I adored with all my heart! Although a womanizer in some ways, he was especially caring and sweet to Charley when she broke her leg and after, when they began First Date Aid and became business partners. I loved that they had known each other since university and lived together but recently they have things come out, for both of them which neither knew about one another. I loved that! They seemed to bring out something in each other and make them think about their own life. I was completely rooting for them to get together because they actually seemed so right together. It was a journey for these two as well, but one that was well deserved in the end!

Seriously, pre-order this book right now! It will have you laughing, gushing, gasping and shouting at your book over several of the scenes – in a good way, especially near the end. It’s a great chick-lit and I’m so glad I got to read an ARC copy of it! I finished it curled up in bed, watching the snow fall down today and it made me heart go all gooey when it came to the end. I will definitely be reading more books by Lucy Robinson, starting with her first book “The Greatest Love Story of All Time”

My Life Next Door – Huntley Fitzpatrick

Synopsis

A gorgeous debut about family, friendship, first romance, and how to be true to one person you love without betraying another

“One thing my mother never knew, and would disapprove of most of all, was that I watched the Garretts. All the time.”

The Garretts are everything the Reeds are not. Loud, numerous, messy, affectionate. And every day from her balcony perch, seventeen-year-old Samantha Reed wishes she was one of them . . . until one summer evening, Jase Garrett climbs her terrace and changes everything. As the two fall fiercely in love, Jase’s family makes Samantha one of their own. Then in an instant, the bottom drops out of her world and she is suddenly faced with an impossible decision. Which perfect family will save her? Or is it time she saved herself?

————————————————————————————————————————————————————

My Review

Sam Reed has watched The Garrett family for over 10 years from her balcony roof. They are everything her family are not. They are loud, messy, there are 10 of them: five boys and three girls, and they are an affectionate family. A family that Sam isn’t allowed to associate with. But every night she watches them, wishing she could be a part of their family.

Sam lives with her mother and her sister. Her dad left with her mum was pregnant with her, so it’s always been just the three of them. They are the complete opposite to The Garretts. Her mother likes everything clean and spotless and hoovers any trace of footprints from the carpet every day.

But as stories go, if you’re watching a family every night, one of them is eventually going to spot you and enter Jase, who climbs up to her balcony and talks to her. Day by day they spend more time together, first starting a friendship which soon blossoms into a  such a lovely relationship.

Over time, she realizes that there is so much more love in The Garrett’s household than she’s ever got in hers.  Four-year-old George is besotted with Sam, and he’s such a cute character, stating random facts and his constant worry over what might happen, but Sam knows just how to keep him happy from his worries and entertained when she babysits the young children. To him, she’s a superhero, after spotting her one day after work in her outfit and starts calling her Super Sailorgirl. With George smitten with Sam, besides Jase of course, Sam quickly becomes a part of The Garrett’s family, helping without being asked – it just comes naturally to her and because her family isn’t like this, I think she craved to be a part of their family.

I loved the character of Jase. He cares so much for his family, always willing to help out without being asked. He was always there when he was needed by his family and when Sam got into a bit of a dilemma; he was there to help her straight away. It was obviously how much he liked Sam and vice versa. Although he was a bit of a secret hidden from Sam’s family and best friend, she was just scared about him not being accepted as already said, her mum doesn’t want her around them.

Sam’s mum, Grace, was a bitch to put it lightly. She was self-centered, judgemental and completely vain – someone who should never have had children. She looks down at the Garretts because of the amount of children they have, the noise they make and the amount of toys thrown around their lawn. She doesn’t let Sam or her sister go and play with them. But now that her mother is concentrating on her re-election campaign, she tries to make sure their lives are perfect so nothing affects her chances. When her mother’s gets a new, younger boyfriend and campaign manager Clay, he has Grace wrapped around his finger and after knowing her uptight mother for years, he’s come along and changed her to the point she doesn’t even recognize her and she’s even more grateful her mother doesn’t notice all the time she spends next door.

When tragedy strikes for both families, Sam is torn between her loyalty to her own family or her loyalty to The Garretts, who she has grown to love and vice versa, as they accept her for her. Sam has to decide what to do to try and make things better. Keep the secret to herself or tell knowing it will break both families hearts.

This is a story that will draw you in and make you want to be a part of this huge family. It tugs at your heartstrings how much Jase and Sam’s relationship grows, how much The Garretts love her and how easy it was for her to slip into their family unit.

The story kept me captivated to the very end and it was great to see their love survive through the hardships of everything.

Lucy In The Sky – Paige Toon

Synopsis

Settling down for a 24-hour flight to Australia, Lucy finds a text message on her phone from a woman claiming to have slept with her boyfriend, James, four times in the past month. Trapped above the Pacific, she questions everything about their relationship, but when she finally calls him, James reassures her that it was only his friend playing a joke. James is gorgeous and successful and Lucy adores him, yet at her best friend Molly’s wedding in Sydney, she finds herself having doubts and is keeping an eye on Molly’s brother-in-law Nathan. Nathan is a happy-go-lucky surfer boy with no prospects, no place to live, and an almost-girlfriend in tow. Suddenly, Lucy finds herself caught between two distant continents and two very different men.

——————————————————————————————————————————————————–

My Review

Paige Toon is another of my favourite author’s and her books do not disappoint, especially this one.

Lucy is off to Australia for her two best friend’s wedding – she hasn’t seen them in years and shes excited to go back to the country she spent most of her childhood living.

Once seated on the plane, she receives a text message from someone claiming to have been sleeping with her boyfriend James for the past month. With nowhere to go, seeing as shes stuck on the plane, the message stays stuck in her mind and she begins to question everything about their relationship.

When she does call James, he reassures her that it was a friend playing a joke and he would get to the bottom of it.

Finally landing in Sydney, she is so excited to see her childhood friends Sam and Molly, whom have obviously grown up during the years they have all been apart.

Lucy used to have the biggest crush on Sam when she was younger, but enter Sam’s younger Nathan – who was a young teenager the last time Lucy saw him and she feels an attraction to him.

Laid-back and always traveling – surfer Nathan and Lucy begin to spend a lot of time together – Him teaching her Surfing and both messing around together, getting drunk, joking around etc.

This causes Lucy to think about her relationship with James, especially as she misses Australia and feels sparks with Nathan.

Of course, her two weeks are up and its back to London, back to her job and back to James. She does stay in contact with Nathan, calling and texting each other and when he gets a temp building job in London, its Lucy who picks him up, shows him around London, much to James’ dismay and jealousy.

I loved Lucy and Nathan together – I was wishing for them to get together and for Lucy to dump James’ ass.

As a typical chick-lit, there is drama and feelings and not knowing what to do with them – which is why I love books like this. The ending – as most of Paige Toon’s books end, had me a bit confused, but I think I know who she ended up with – at least I bloody hope it’s the person I wanted her to get with.

It’s there that she meets handsome and alluring bartender, Will Morris. The pair hit it off immediately, growing closer with every passing day. But as with every summer, it has to end sometime.

Chloe’s senior year approaches and there’s a shock in store when she returns to do her final year at school. Will is there too, but he’s not one of her fellow students…

A tale of forbidden love, broken hearts, friendship, and rivalry.

——————————————————————————————————————————————-

My Review

As a Fan of Pretty Little Liars and a massive fan of Ezra and Aria – A teacher and pupil – i do, in fact, love the whole forbidden (thanks mum for the word) relationships. It’s a kind of thrill to read them as i would have never thought to get into a relationship with a teacher, let alone thought about it. But the way Ezra and Aria and Chloe and Will got together were similar and both guys didn’t know how old the other were until they inevitable happens and they become the girl’s teacher’s.

Chloe and Will meet in a bar, as she uses a fake ID to get in and he is a bartender. They hit it off immediately and spent every day together. Will (22) thought Chloe (17) was college age and never questioned it and Chloe thought Will was just a bartender. The more time they spent together, the more they seemed to fall for one another.

Meeting Will’s parents on the second day they knew each other, his parents and brother took an instant liking to her, so when the day of school came around, and everyone was on about the new maths teacher, it came as a massive shock for both Chloe and Will to find out she was a minor and in his maths class. So of course, Will has to break up with her.

Throughout her break up, so regularly went on ‘dates’ with Will’s brother Sam, much to Wills dismay. But Chloe finds a great friend in Sam throughout her heartbreak over Will and Sam knows that Will is feeling the same way.

Trying to make Will jealous, Chloe begins to go out her classmate Oliver, whom she has no feelings for and his possessiveness over the amount of boy friends she has pushes her over the limit especially as her ex- boyfriend turned best friend Nick, needs her during the time of year his mum died.

During the course of the book, Will and Chloe learn to be friends – I think I’d say, although the attraction for one another is still there and it all comes together when during one detention over Oliver fondling her on school property, Will buys her Malteasers and they both throw them in the air, trying to get them in their mouths. Because of this and trying to act normal around each other, when they go on a school trip paint balling, Chloe accidentally shoots Will on the shoulder when they are waiting to start, which makes me shot her on the bum.

She gets stranded from Nick during the game and Will finds her. They begin to talk and end up kissing, Will confessing his true feelings for Chloe and they get together once again.

Although they have to be super careful over their relationship, big trouble occurs for them both and Sam comes to the rescue, to solve the problem and sort it all out so his brother and Chloe don’t get in trouble.

I was actually on edge for most of the book, waiting for something extremely big to happen, which of course something did, but thanks to Sam it was all okay.

Although it’s a forbidden romance, you can’t help getting sucked in and I actually thought 5 years wasn’t that big a deal, as Will kept reminding her that she was a minor.

What he did for her 18th though, super cute and I really want someone to do that for me.

The epilogue was a great way to end the book, especially the last sentence.

A definite recommendation for this book as it has everything. Fun characters, forbidden romance, heartache and big laughs. You will instantly fall in love with Will, Sam and Nick! I guarantee.
