My Review

***I received an copy of this book in exchange for an honest review*** 

I’ve loved Nicole Williams since reading Crash. Jude Ryder is my first book boyfriend from her and know I can Knox Jagger to that list as well.

I knew I had to be on the tour for Hard Knox once I had read the synopsis. It was and is definitely a book to read. It has mystery and suspense and hella laugh out loud parts. You will be infuriated with characters, love them and be a part of their story all the way to the end.

It took me a little while to get into the story, mainly because I found Charlie a little hard to like. She’s passionate and feisty and independent and will put herself in dangerous situations, not caring about her safety, just wanting to get the story. She also doesnt care who hates or likes her. Yeah, she’s really not got many, if any friends, apart from her roommate. I found her to be a bit too much at times. I was angry at her for being an idiot, angry at her for putting herself in situations she needn’t be in and of course, she made me want to pull my hair out with her idiocy in parts of the book which definitely put her life in the risk zone. On her own she was infuriating but I liked her with Knox. I liked the back and forth of them and I did enjoy seeing her break free, at times, from being so GAH at times. She let loose and I liked that about her. I liked that she stripped back and she still didn’t give a rats arse, and that was okay, because she was showing us, her. Showing us that she isn’t just some annoying journalism student who keeps people away from her. She can let them in. Like she let Knox.

Now Knox. I love a bad boy in books and at the beginning I thought he was obnoxious, a little up himself. He’s known around the university as a playboy, especially when girls come up to him at parties and put their knickers in the back of his pocket with their numbers on. He has an air of mystery around him that you just want to find out, and the more you do, the more you see the layers to him. He isn’t this bad boy, and the things he does is because of his past. He’s trying to make a difference and I loved finding that out about him. I loved finding out the secret and why he does what he does. Okay, very vague, but it will become SO clear when you get to the end and it all comes out. You will think back and be like ‘Holy crap’. He is so protective of Charlie and I loved seeing this side of him. He was also a little vulnerable in the fact he was so protective, but as I mentioned, you will see why. I loved loved loved seeing him slowly fall for Charlie but trying to stay away. He and Charlie felt very real. They went from strangers to living together and becoming friends. Their chemistry was obvious, their banter and fights were passionate and you can see the fire in both of them. Their feelings for each other. And when it comes to blows, dear God, does it come to blows 😉

I have to mention the date-rape part. I felt that although this book is about it, it was handled with care and consideration. I was freaking out at one part and I had guessed from the beginning who the culprit was – I love it when I can do that haha. Despite the fact that I felt that the date-rape storyline kind of took a back story in some parts, it all came together in the end and really did ficus on Charlie and Knox finding out who is doing this to the female college students.

If you love Nicole Williams’ books, then Hard Knox is another book to read. It’s a great read and Knox will definitely end up on your BBF list!

There is just something about this series that is crazy addictive and smart that I can never get enough!

Just like the first one, this book was incredibly well written, with an amazing ability to completely suck you in to the story making it feel longer than it actually was. I could feel the story and main character opening up so much more in this book than in the first one, really getting in to the coming story.

In this book we finally learn that the main character’s real name is in fact Eve (a little ironic considering her job description). Picking up where MISCHIEF IN MIAMI left off, she is on her way to catch the big fish, the 10 that will make her enough money to finally stop being an Eve. However, things don’t go exactly as planned as Eve finds out that the 10 is in fact her cheating ex-fiance Henry and she’s not the only one hired to catch him.

Life is change. Or is it, change is life?

For me it’s the latter. Change is the essence of my life. It is the origin of my present and the promise of my immediate future.

One day, that’s going to change.

As Eve starts to work on getting revenge on Henry through her work, we begin to see a different side to her. Never letting anything get to her before, working with him proves harder than she first thought as although the hatred and pain over what he did pushes her, past memories keep popping up, which made me question how this part of the story will progress and if the pair will end up back together… which would just lead to even more questions!

Henry is completely charming in this book and with that, and through flashbacks you can totally see why Eve was with him in the first place. I can’t help but think that because of this she is going to get sucked back in. She is so far off the spectrum that she can’t see that she won’t be able to pull it off, and even if she did, he knows who she is and could hold her responsible IF things actually do go as planned.

He’d always been good with words. However, that wasn’t my first rodeo with Henry Callahan, and I knew all of his tricks. Neither his words nor the way he said them would make my breath catch ever again.

I find the whole concept of this series amazing and only wish the books were longer so I didn’t have to keep waiting for the rest of the story. Nicole Williams’ writing style completely sinks you in so that before you know it, you’ve finished the book and your desperate for the next one. I cannot recommend these books enough, they are short, light reads, with a killer story that stays with you!

My Review

I absolutely love that cover. It’s stunning and really reminds me of Eve, from Adam and Eve – which I suspect is exactly what it is. The rosy red of the apple has never looked so tempting and taking a bite? Ohh honey, such the wrong thing to do, but staying away, you just can’t. You have to take a bite. It’s too tempting.

That is exactly what Great Exploitations is about. Tempting the married man to have a one-night stand to ensure that the pre-nup they made their wives have, is now null due to the Infidelity clause. Not only do the wives get a share of the money, so does the Eve and the business.

Great Exploitations is the first in a novella series. The main character goes by Sienna in this book. She is a Eve – a member of a secret elite of beautiful woman hired by unhappy wives of cheating, rich men to seduce and sleep with the husbands who have made them sign a prenup. If they divorced them, they would get nothing, but catching them in the act? Well, they will get half of their husbands money due to a little thing in the prenup called The Infidelity Clause.

The agency is owned by ‘G’, who scouts for her Eves and transforms them into the seductive women they are today. G scouted Sienna five years ago, and turned her into the temptress she is today. ‘Sienna’ or whomever she is, is one of the top Eves. She puts a lot of effort into her job; from nitpicking every little detail about the Target, to transforming herself into his perfect woman, to making sure she has his complete and undivided attention on her so she can get the job done.

She’s good at her job and that’s how she wants to keep it. Sienna seems to have no emotions attached to her. She treats sex as sex. No feelings before or after. It’s like shes a robot. Programmed to do the steps to hook line and sink the Target. To make sure they are caught and the wives get the money that they deserve when they are shown the pictures the P.I’s take of her and the target.

The men are tagged by how much money they are worth by the number of zeros in their bank account. Eights and Nines are pretty great but a Ten? That is rare but if one does come around, it’s a complete goldmine. A Ten for Sienna would give her the freedom she is looking for and it would set her up for life having all that money in her account.

It’s a short book, at only 90 pages but there is so much information packed into it. Nicole Williams takes you through a journey about who the Eves are, what they do and how hard they work to make sure their job is done and dusted to perfection. There is a lot of hard work put into being an Eve.

It is a quick read, but one I thoroughly enjoyed. It was brilliantly written, and the concept was such an interesting one to read. You won’t want to put it down and from that ending? The rare Ten? Oh I cannot wait to read the next novel in the series. It really leaves you wanting more and wanting to know all about Sienna’s past and her ever-growing closeness to her freedom…whatever her freedom really is.

1. Walking Disaster – Jamie Mcguire.

April 2nd 2013.

Now I know this book is one EVERYONE is dying to get their hands on, me being one of them. We all need bad boy Travis Maddox back in our lives asap, and I cannot wait to get stuck into Travis’s story and POV. I bloody loved Beautiful Disaster and I know I’m going to love this book too!

After falling in love with Braden and Joss in On Dublin Street, its now Joss’s work buddie’s turn to have a book. We find out a bit of Johanna Walker’s back story in ODS but now its her story being told. I can’t wait to read this book and see more of Braden and Joss…if they are mentioned at some point to see how they are doing. Other than that, I am so excited to get my hands on this book!

I have been waiting MONTHS for this book to be out. After reading The Secret of Ella and Micha, and reading comments about the release date, I truly thought it was out last year, but it wasn’t! I was disappointed but now we have a firm date, i am counting down the months haha! I was hooked on Ella and Micha’s story and cant wait to see how their life pans out for them in this book!

YES! More bad boys! More Cash, more Olivia and now it’s Marissa’s story – Liv’s cousin. If you’ve read the other two books,  Down To You and Up To Me then you will have fallen for Cash Davenport. But since its Marissa’s story including a rather sexy bad boy, who was in Up To Me, I seriously cannot wait for September to roll around for more sexy, dangerous bad boys to be in my life!

I LOVED Ten Tiny Breathes and now we get Livie’s story – Kacey’s sister. I loved reading and getting to know her in the first book, so I am super happy and excited she gets her own book. Hope that K.A Tucker includes Kacey and Trent in this book too. Love to see where they are at together.

10. Breathe Into Me – Amanda Stone

I stumbled across this book on Goodreads and I instantly thought how good it looked. I love books like this where there is a past that the girl doesn’t want out and she just wants to concentrate on something else but then a boy comes along – a bad boy who acts bad but is really a sweetheart – and makes the girl see that running away isn’t good and that she must find the courage to step up and fight the demons that hare haunting her. That is basically the synopsis, but it sounds so freaking good!!

 

These are my ten books I seriously want out now and it’s only part 1. I shall be doing Part 2 pretty soon.
