How BEAUTIFUL is the Misbehaving cover? Like seriously. When it got dropped into my inbox, i was at work at just sat staring at it. Head to the side, gazing longingly at the couple and the romantic feel to the photograph with the sun and the water behind them… I really need a boyfriend HA.

Anyway, I am an utter fan of these new UK covers because, let’s be honest, the US seem to have the good ones, but we are getting there and Simon & Schuster/The Hot Bed definitely took that into account when re-designing these covers. I am in swoon mode and i cannot stop staring at every single one of them. They are just so *sigh*.

Let me know what you think of the covers in the comments. Are you a fan of the new designs? I can hands up say i most definitely am.

Falling Into Us (#2) – Jasinda Wilder

17700010Synopsis

THE STORY YOU THOUGHT YOU KNEW…

When Kyle Calloway died, he took a part of Nell with him. She wasn’t the only one left to pick up the pieces, however; Kyle’s death left a gaping hole in the hearts and lives of his parents and his older brother Colton, and ultimately broke the will of the girl he loved.

THE STORY YOU NEVER IMAGINED…

Becca de Rosa is Nell’s best friend. When Kyle died, Nell was so devastated that no one could reach her, not even her best friend Becca. As she tries to help Nell through her grief, Becca’s own life is thrust into turmoil, and everything she knows is changed.

Jason Dorsey asked Nell out the week after her sixteenth birthday, but that date never happened. Instead, he ended up going out with Nell’s best friend, Becca. He had no way of knowing, then, how that one date would send him on a life-long journey with Becca. He had no way of knowing the tragedies and triumphs he would experience, or that in Becca, he might find the love of a lifetime.

THE HEARTACHE YOU’LL NEVER FORGET…

My review of Falling into You is HERE

———————————————

My Review

By now you should know my favourites. The ones that completely stole my heart, ripped it out, made me a sobbing mess, had me falling in love with their story, having my heart pieced back together and left an outstanding impression to me. That was what Falling into You did to me. It showed raw pain, dealing or more like trying to deal with grief and falling in love. To say it’s a great book would be an understatement….

BUT then came along Falling Into Us and I can’t tell you how much this book stole another piece of my heart. I sat wondering why it had taken so long to finally get round to reading this book and I actually couldn’t think of any. But it’s okay because I did get around to it and I did completely, head over heels demolish every single page and every single line that was in the book.

I read it on the way to work, back home from work and then into the evening. It PAINED me to put it down during work and even when I jumped into the shower, Jason and Becca were constantly on my mind. I needed to know more about them, finish up their story, and see how their lives pan out. I really cannot tell you how much this book just made me forget the outside world.

There will always be one book you will read and you are like “why hasn’t this been in my life sooner?” And I’ve got to say, this is the book. I may, just a tiny bit love this book more than Falling Into You, but only a little bit because I adore Colt and Nell’s story. To say both couple lead different lives, it’s hard to really compare the stories because they all go through heart break and pain but Jason and Becca’s just stole my heart a bit more.

Becca is an amazing character. She is smart, like super smart, she is Nell’s best friend, she’s overcoming a stutter which still appears when she is nervous or excited and she is gorgeous, but that is overshadowed because of Nell. Her parents are strict on her, especially her father, she’s in all these classes, constantly doing homework and hardly ever has any freedom. Her freedom is poetry which she keeps locked away from anyone.

She’s always had a crush on Jason from afar but hes always liked Nell. But when Nell stands him up and she tells him to call Becca, well then we get to know what they did on their ‘date’ as we know they went out in Falling Into You.

I did adore Becca. You could feel her frustration at her parents – she just wanted freedom. Not to be shackled. She also fees frustrated and angry at being second best to Nell when Jason asks her out but you can pretty much see from the get-go that these two have so much more than he and Nell would ever have. And that is where the story begins. Throughout the years, you see her progress from a shy and soft spoken girl into a confident and outspoken women. Being with Jason truly helped her throughout the many trials and heartbreak she faced over the years, the love she had for him, the way she knew he was the one for her. She helped him as much as he helped her and I loved watching her progression throughout the book and the years. She was so comfortable in her own skin and around Jason. That is exactly how it should be.

I loved Jason. He’s not the person he showed other people. He didn’t have the greatest home life, but he was strong, and the way he handled his childhood shaped him into the person he grew up to be and the person we all fall in love with. He’s special and I think that’s why Becca has a soft spot for him, despite the fact he was gorgeous too. He chose the path in life to not be his father and I applaud him for that. Along with the help and love of Becca, he could do anything he put his mind to. She was there with him through everything, much the same as he was with her. They both go through horrible things but they bring each other back to life, because of the strength of their love.

Jason is such a sweetheart when Becca goes through the most painful thing to happen in her life. He’s patient, he never leaves her and he breaks through to her, gets her to speak to him. He holds her, loves her and lets her know he’s not going anywhere. He truly is a special guy and you can utterly see why they were the ones for one another. They just balanced each other out, they loved each other so much and although their journeys weren’t easy, they had each other to power through and be right by each other’s sides.

You watch they grow from insecure teenagers to confident adults, who know exactly what to do, what to say, how to love and how to help each other. You watch them talk things through, complement one another and talk about their future, always including the other. Their relationship and their bond is so strong, nothing can part them.

If you are looking for some Nell and Colton, then they do appear in this book. You get to see more of their relationship, their cuteness and see their relationship develop even more. They are still so awesome together. You do relieve the moment Kyle dies, and the tears did appear again. Even though you know it’s going to happen, it’s still as painful as when you read it the first time.

Falling into Us will tear you apart. It will make you cry, make you smile, throw your kindle away because you don’t want to relive that moment, make you giggle and smile and sigh at the cutest of Jason and Becca. I wasn’t worried at all when Jasinda said she was writing a second book that included these two, because I knew it was be great. And it bloody well was.

I would recommend reading Falling into You first, then Falling into Us. Read about Nell and Colton, then Jason and Becca and come back and tell me all your FEELS. Because you will FEEL a hell of a bloody lot!!

Just The Sexiest Man Alive – Julie James

3863861Synopsis

No woman could resist him—except the one he wanted most…

Cool, Calm, Collected…

Nothing fazes Taylor Donovan. In the courtroom she never lets the opposition see her sweat. In her personal life, she never lets any man rattle her—not even her cheating ex-fiancé. So when she’s assigned to coach People’s “Sexiest Man Alive” for his role in his next big legal thriller, she refuses to fall for the Hollywood heartthrob’s charms. Even if he is the Jason Andrews.

Confident, Famous, Irresistible…

Jason Andrews is used to having women fall at his feet. When Taylor Donovan gives him the cold shoulder, he’s thrown for a loop. She’s unlike any other woman he’s ever met: uninterested in the limelight, seemingly immune to his advances, and shockingly capable of saying no to him. She’s the perfect challenge. And the more she rejects him, the more he begins to realize she may just be his perfect match.

————————————————————————————————————————————————————–

My Review

“Seriously, Taylor – do you know who I am?” He demanded. She smiled at this ” You celebrities actually say that? That’s cute.”

Taylor Donovan is living in L.A for a couple of months while taking on a sexual harassment case. She’s calm, collected and focused on her career and she can definitely give as good as she gets with everyone. But when she’s assigned to coach People’s ‘Sexiest Man Alive’ Jason Andrews, for his next big role in a legal thriller, she is refusing to fall for the heartthrobs charms. Even if it is THE Jason Andrews.

Jason Andrews is used to girls throwing themselves at him, so when Taylor doesn’t bat an eyelid, he’s intrigued and a bit thrown about it. No one has ever given him the cold shoulder; all the women he’s met haven’t resisted him…until Taylor that is. It doesn’t help that he blew off two appointments with her, and that is why she’s less than thrilled to be working with him but the more time they spend together, the more Jason seems to be breaking Taylor’s stance down bit by bit and the attraction is clearly showing from both of them, but the games being played are keeping them apart.

Taylor is such a character and it’s hard not to love her. You would feel exactly the same if you had to clear your schedule with a big court case coming up just to fit in Jason Andrews, only to have to cancel TWICE, when she could have been focusing on her case. When they do met, she definitely brings him down a notch or two, and that’s when you realize that she’s not in to being charmed by a Hollywood heartthrob, even if he is sexy and she’s not thrilled that she has to help out Jason Andrews for his role. She thinks it should only take a couple of days to help him out, but what if he wants it to last longer…?

Jason is a thirty-something Hollywood actor and has been voted ‘Sexiest man alive’ for god knows how long. He knows how to charm the ladies and has seen a lot of action over the years. He knows that one look at him and the panties are dropping. It was easy to dislike him at the start, as his ego is massive and his character is everything that hits the Hollywood stereotype you read about. But when he meets Taylor that is definitely not the case. You start to see the more time they spend together, the more Jason is easing back into the ‘real world’, a world where he wants to prove to Taylor that he’s not the guy that everyone thinks he is, and he really has changed, because he wants to be with her. He’s stopped feeling emotions for years, but around Taylor, all these feelings he’s hid away re-service and the bad boy is reforming, just for Taylor.

The chemistry between Taylor and Jason is blatant from the first meeting, where Taylor knocks him down a notch. The more time they spend together, the more the sparks are lighting up between them but they still do nothing about it apart from trying to make each other jealous to see if the other does, in fact, feel something. The cat and mouse game added to the intensity of them both, but I was shaking my head and telling them both just to stop with the games and just admit their feelings to one another.

I have to say, I loved the part where Jason, who was filming, drops everything when Taylor gets into an accident. It was such a perfect example of how much his walls had dropped and how his emotions were coming back to life for this girl that he would do anything to be around her and keep her safe.

I really did enjoy this book. From the title, you think it’s all about sex, but alas, there isn’t a sex scene, more Julie James telling us where they had sex, but no description of any sex. The story was great and it was a fun romance book to read, which included breaking down barriers, jealousy and finally finding that one person who is perfect for you.

Meant to Be – Lauren Morrill

11721314Synopsis

Meant to be or not meant to be . . . that is the question.

It’s one thing to fall head over heels into a puddle of hazelnut coffee, and quite another to fall for the—gasp—wrong guy. Straight-A junior Julia may be accident prone, but she’s queen of following rules and being prepared. That’s why she keeps a pencil sharpener in her purse and a pocket Shakespeare in her, well, pocket. And that’s also why she’s chosen Mark Bixford, her childhood crush, as her MTB (“meant to be”).

But this spring break, Julia’s rules are about to get defenestrated (SAT word: to be thrown from a window) when she’s partnered with her personal nemesis, class-clown Jason, on a school trip to London. After one wild party, Julia starts receiving romantic texts . . . from an unknown number! Jason promises to help discover the identity of her mysterious new suitor if she agrees to break a few rules along the way. And thus begins a wild goose chase through London, leading Julia closer and closer to the biggest surprise of all: true love.

Because sometimes the things you least expect are the most meant to be.

—————————————————————————————————————————————————————–

My Review

Julia is off on a school trip to London for 10 days. It’s the city where her parents took their honeymoon and Julia has wanted to experience the London magic since hearing stories about the city and since finding her mother’s Romeo and Juliet book. She’s completely accident prone but she’s definitely one for following the rules and hates to break them. She takes books wherever she goes and always has her pocket Shakespeare in her pocket. She also has a MTB (Meant to be) in the form of Max Bixford, her childhood crush. He just hasn’t acknowledged her in years, but she’s determined he’s the one for her.

Jason is nothing like Julia’s envision of a MTB. He’s a jock who teases Julia, calling her Book Licker, he flirts with any girl in a skirt and is a total rule breaker. And now Julia is partnered up with him during the ten days – nightmare! But maybe this could be a good thing?

During their trip, Julia is slowly conforming to the ways of Jason. He presses her to have fun and be a rule breaker instead of being a stuck-up book worm and when she ends up getting drunk at a party he takes her to on the first night, and begins texting a guy she met – albeit she can’t remember him – Jason is there to help her find him.

This book reminded me of Bound Together, as Julia was alone on the trip without any friends, much like Zoe, and Jason was the misunderstood jock, much like Matt. Although they were both in different cities, they both were partnered together and grew closer and both Matt and Jason blew hot and cold, making both the girls confused over their feelings for the guys.

During the book, there were times when I loved Julia and times when I just wanted her to let loose and have fun and stop being so prissy. Albeit, her dislike for Jason turned her off following his plans, but I did like that she let her guard down sometimes and the chemistry between them was hard to miss, even through the bickering and the ‘cultural’ hours they went on – like the London Eye and at Stratford-upon-Avon. Boy did I love the rain part! Swooooon.

With the texts, I really thought Jason was sending them to Julia, but alas, I was totally mistaken, and was completely laughing when it was discovered who the texter was. It was a good twist to the ending, seeing I was adamant it was either Jason or one of his friends doing it to embarrass Julia. Thank god I was mistaken, because I loved the confession from Jason at the end of the book. For someone who doesn’t necessarily believe in MTB’s and love, it was a sweet declaration.

Mark – well what can I say about him? He seemed so lovely when he ‘saved’ Julia – I suppose you could say – but the more time spent on him, the more he became an absolute prick. I disliked him as soon as he mentioned the plane ‘gossip’. It just proves that even if you were best friends once upon a time, years can change anyone and it definitely changed Mark into an asshole. Jason repeatedly told Julia about him, but once you have a vision of how you want your crush to be, you don’t like anyone telling you otherwise. It was great to see the jealously steaming from Jason when Matt was mentioned and when the three of them went to Hyde Park. Boy was that totally awkward.

I loved all the texts, and after finding out about the phones at the end of the book, I literally went back and read them all again from SF. Seriously, if you read this book, take note of them, because everything will become clear with them at the end.

This was my Lazy Sunday book, and by God, I fell in love with it. I’m a sucker for bad boy/good girl loving so this definitely gets my seal of approval. It was a cute story about finding yourself and love, no matter how unpredictable it can be.
