We are thrilled to celebrate the Release Day Launch of K.A. Tucker’s FIVE WAYS TO FALL!! FIVE WAYS TO FALL is the fourth novel in her Ten Tiny Breaths Series, published by Atria Books an imprint of Simon & Schuster.

FWTF final cover

About FIVE WAYS TO FALL:

Purple-haired, sharp-tongued Reese MacKay knows all about making the wrong choice; she’s made plenty of them in her twenty-odd-years. So when her impulsive, short-lived marriage ends in heartbreak, she decides it’s time for a change. She moves to Miami with the intention of hitting reset on her irresponsible life, and she does quite well…aside from an epically humiliating one-night stand in Cancun with a hot blond bouncer named Ben. Thank God she can get on a plane and leave that mistake behind her.

Football scholarship and frat parties with hot chicks? Part of charmer Ben Morris’s plan. Blown knee that kills any hope of a professional football career? So not part of the plan. Luckily Ben has brains to go with his knockout looks and magnetism. After three long years of balancing law school with his job as a bouncer at Penny’s Palace, he’s ready to lead a more mature life—until his first day of work, when he finds himself in the office of that crazy, hot chick he met in Cancun. The one he hasn’t stopped thinking about.

If Ben truly were a smart guy, he’d stay clear of Reese. She’s the boss’s stepdaughter and it’s been made very clear that office romances are grounds for dismissal. Plus, rumor has it she’s trouble. The only problem is, he likes trouble, especially when it’s so good-looking…

EXCERPT:

Ben

I love the angry ones.

Of course, anyone who knows me would argue that I love any and all women, and I can’t exactly disagree. But I love the angry ones the most. They’re a challenge to be conquered, the reason for their fury usually fitting neatly into three buckets: insecure, scorned, hormonal.

And this chick gazing up at me with fire in her caramel eyes?

I’m betting on bucket number two.

“My, what an awfully bright red shirt you have on,” she pushes out between gritted teeth, as if she’s trying to be polite but can’t hide her disdain.

I didn’t know what I was walking into when the punk-rock chick with the crazy-ass muscular body waved us over, but her friend with the purple hair and her back to me had me intrigued. Now that I’m getting a good look at her face, I know who I’m spending my last night with in Cancún. She’s not what some would call traditionally “pretty.” Her eyes are slightly too big and far apart, her nose is slightly too long and slender, and her lips—though nice and wide—are on the thin side. Yet something about all of that put together makes her sexy as hell. Maybe it’s the little nose ring. Or maybe it’s the way her decent-sized tits are pressing up against me, her low V-neck tank top—a casual shirt, telling me she’s not trying to pick anyone up—giving me a fine view of her cleavage. Whatever it is, my dick is certainly pleased. “You like it?” I ask.

An irritated glare flickers to the material. “No.”

I can’t help but chuckle at her candor. “Will you at least give me a head start before you gore me?”

Those thin lip curls into a condescending smirk. “Bulls don’t see color. That’s a myth.”

The only thing I love more than an angry girl is a smart, angry girl.

This is going to be fun.

“Well, how about I solve the problem for you.” I take a step back from her and swiftly yank my shirt off, exposing six days of suntanned skin and an upper body that I know looks damn appealing because I work my ass off to keep it that way. The random catcalls from the tables around confirm it.

And then I simply stand there and grin like the cocky ass that I am as Angry Girl can’t keep her eyes from scanning the muscles I’ve honed since my college football days, her lips parting ever so subtly. I see the shift in her, the moment where she realizes that, though she’d prefer to castrate the entire male species right now, she can’t ignore her attraction to me.

At least, that’s what I want to see.

GUEST REVIEW: The Mistress – Tiffany Reisz

17251444Synopsis

There’s punishment-and then there’s vengeance.

Nora Sutherlin is being held, bound and naked. Under different circumstances, she would enjoy the situation immensely, but her captor isn’t interested in play. Or pity.

As the reality of her impending peril unfolds, Nora becomes Scheherazade, buying each hour of her life with stories-sensual tales of Søren, Kingsley and Wesley, each of whom has tempted and tested and tortured her in his own way. This, Nora realizes, is her life: nothing so simple, so vanilla, as a mere love triangle for her. It’s a knot in a silken cord, a tangled mass of longings of the body and the heart and the mind. And it may unravel at any moment.

But in Nora’s world, no one is ever truly powerless-a cadre of her friends, protectors and lovers stands ready to do anything to save her, even when the only certainty seems to be sacrifice and heartbreak….

Wendy’s Review

There is a reason Tiffany Reisz is a best-selling author, once again I have been completely blown away with her latest offering, so how do you write a review for one of Tiffany’s books without sounding… well, just a little Vanilla.

We were left hanging in a state of utter devastation at the end of The Prince, with Nora being kidnapped, her life hanging in the balance, so I approached this book with trepidation, although I felt totally compelled to take this final journey, I wanted to take it slow, savour Tiffany’s eloquent writing and ultimately find out what in God’s name was she was going to do? Where was the master of erotic writing going to take us next? I started to highlight the lightbulb moments, the erotic & funny moments, and before I knew it I had virtually highlighted every page.

Last we saw Nora she had accepted Wes’ proposal of marriage, was she really about to embark on a Vanilla life with Wes or would we see her return to her collared & complex life with Søren ?

I am trying to keep this a spoiler free zone, but it’s so hard, I want to share every page with you, how I felt during the scenes and discuss the people within it and their experiences, and yes I say people and not characters because yes they are real people and you will not convince me otherwise.

I love Nora, I’m pretty much convinced she’s Tiffany, smart, funny and I could fill pages and pages with Nora quotes just to read them over and over again.

“I’m in agony. Typical morning after for me” Nora

“You know Søren’s not a vampire, right? You don’t turn kinky because he bites you” Nora

“Don’t mindfuck a mindfucker” Nora

“the verdict is simply this – I am willing and capable of helping you out of this mess you’ve gotten yourself into” . Søren “Can we call it a pickle? Pickle sounds less scary than mess” Nora

Yes I could ditch this review and just quote away.

Nothing I write here is going to thoroughly explain how holy freakin brilliant this book is. But if you have read the other books in this series you know it’s going to be good and any pre-conceived notions you had about the BDSM lifestyle have certainly been blown out of the water by this series. But nothing prepared me for how totally brilliant The Mistress is.

I read the first page which listed 4 statements, which I have not included so as not to spoil it for you if you haven’t read it yet:

The Story so far….

At the end of The Prince the following statements were true…..

(4 statements)

At the end of The Mistress, only one of these statements will be true

Well I have to be honest I was freaking out already, I couldn’t read fast enough.

For The Angel fans we get an all too small glimpse of Griffin.

“The eight most impressive inches in the east village” (Nora)

And Søren almost seems human rather than the stern God like figure from previous books, if you weren’t Team Søren before this book, you will I know be 100% Team Søren by the end.

“Don’t get in to a scriptural pissing contest with a Jesuit priest, Kinglsey”, Søren chided “you’ll lose every time”

“Why do you love me so much, you stupid man”? (Nora) “Because I met you” (Søren)

“I am yours” she whispered “I always was. Even when I was with someone else” “I was always yours” “I know” he said with utter arrogance

“I promised you forever” “Forever isn’t long enough”

‘He’d probably have to invent some new form of Sadism to punish her for her latest crimes’.

As for Grace, Zachary’s wife, well she was very unexpected.

It has been a long time since I openly sobbed while reading a book to the point I had to walk away, wash my puffy, snotty face and go back in only to be in the same state minutes later. It was heart wrenching, stomach churning and captivating all at the same time. When Søren’s & Kingsley’s early lives collide with the present it puts them all in danger, and Nora is taken by a ghost from their past. Who can save Nora? Kingsley? Søren? They both play their part but ultimately only one person holds Nora’s future in their hands.

This book was beyond all my expectations, but then one should never underestimate Tiffany as a masterful storyteller. Always making us question everything we believe and always leaving us wanting to know more. Personally I will never get enough of these books and what they teach us about love & life. Even if it is an unconventional love. And what an end! Or is it?

My review

“I’m going to make love you you until you’re shaking and don’t remember who you are.”

Okay, so I have to be honest here, Rock With Me is the first book I’ve ever read of Kristen Proby. I didn’t actually know it was part of a series when I signed up even though I have the first three books on my kindle; I just haven’t gotten around to reading them yet.

In my opinion, you don’t particularly need to read the first three, but it could help you when the couples are showcased in the book. It took me a while to kind of know who they were and who they were related to, but after that, there are bits of their past conjured in so you know a feel about each person mentioned. I will go back and read the first three books though, just so I properly know the back stories of each character.

Other than that, when I worked out who was who, I was less confused and more focused on Leo Nahs (Meg’s brother) and Samantha Williams’ (Luke’s sister) relationship as it is their book!

For a first reading of Kristen Proby, I was hooked. Flicking through page by page, engrossed with the story of Sam and Leo, of following their story, their journey, knowing about them and their life. Everything about them both was awesome and uh, I just want to lick Leo’s stars please!! It was sexy, it was filled with laughter and tears, it was family and friend orientated but most of all, it showed us that when you find that love, there is nothing that will break it. I adored Rock With Me! And Leo…oh can I have him please? *sigh*

Leo and Sam don’t get off to the best of starts. Sam is attracted to Leo but she acts like a bitch to him because he’s her best friend’s brother and she doesn’t date famous people. It didn’t end well the last time she did, so she stays away from him. But consequences force them together such as family events and a flat tire and from then they become friends, going running every morning then breakfast.

Leo is on a break from touring and Sam has lost her job so to keep her mind off searching for a job, running is their thing for a while at least. They get to know one another more and the attraction between them is sizzling. Sam wants Leo to kiss her again, Leo wants to but he doesn’t know how to do relationships but he sees something in Sam that is different from any other girl. But then you have Sam who doesn’t do relationships either, just fuck buddies.  Leo wants in and wants her but it scares Sam half to death. Will she let him?

Of course she does but Sam and Leo are both stubborn asses and it takes a while to let one another in but when they do, they start falling hard for one another. Sam is an independent woman. She doesn’t like people helping her out, preferring to do it herself but Leo wants to help her. He wants to protect her and love her, and he tries to do that without scaring her off. He tries to break in slowly, letting her know he is not going anywhere.

When Sam’s secret comes out, she gets completely pissed at Leo and as a result they both end up saying hurtful things to one another. But Leo isn’t finished with Sam, he’s not letting her go and proves to her just how much she means to him.

Okay, so because I hadn’t met Sam before this book (I’ve read some reviews and she was a bitch in one of the books?) I can’t comment on that and of course, this review is about Sam and Leo now, so it will be about how I met them in THIS book, as it should be.

Sam is a feisty one. She has trust issue due to a past relationship and because of people using her to get to her brother – whom is famous. Because of this, she doesn’t have many friends and prefers to have a fuck buddy than be in a relationship. She’s lonely, she’s stubborn but she is loyal and protective towards to her family, which in turn lost her her job. She hasn’t told them yet though, wanting to keep it a secret and job hunt by herself.

She doesn’t want their charity and doesn’t like relying on them. She feels inadequate to her family as they are all famous and she feels she hasn’t done anything special in her life. But they don’t see her like that at all. She doesn’t see how much she is loved by them all and how much she means to them.

She truly is a kind and good person. She just has insecurities which make her sarcastic and bitchy at times but other than that, Sam is a great character to read and you really do watch her barriers fall down and watch her fall in love. Being in love is an awesome look on her.

Growing up in foster care, it was a tough time for Leo. It’s also made him have turst issues due to the things that happened in his childhood. And this is where he found Meg and protected her with his life. Besides Meg and his band, he has no other family. Leo has made a name for himself as a famous rockstar for the band Nash and has come a long way since his childhood. He has tattoos, piercings and seems like he has a tough exterior but deep down it’s all a front, especially where Sam is concerned.

Leo has never been in a relationship. He used to fuck groupies, but never kiss them or give oral sex. He felt that was too personal, but with Sam he does just this. He truly adores Sam, there is something different about her and Leo likes it. He likes this feeling he gets when he is with Sam. He likes having someone to call his and they have so much fun together, ripping into one another, teasing one another. It was great to see them both let someone in and learn to trust again.

He is just as stubborn as Sam but he knows and tries to break down this barrier and get to her open up to him. He’s falling in love with her and wants to know every single thing about her. He’s never done this relationship thing before but he sure as hell wants it if it means he gets Sam.

Can I have Leo please? Please?

So uhm, I need to mention ALL the sex scenes. Fuck me sideways. Kristen Proby sure knows how to write some freaking steamy stuff. I was fanning myself every time Sam and Leo had sex. Jesus Christ seriously. Leo sure knows the way around a woman’s body and Sam is working it for us girls! Lick those stars girl!! I know all of us envy you and want to be you. Finger licking good. And it’s not just the sexual chemistry, that made them so great together. Their swooning romance and heart-felt moments between the two that grows with both of them. It grows into love, an overpowering love that neither of them thought possible, but together, it is perfect for them.

I loved reading Sam and Leo’s story. Watching their journey together and alone. Rock With Me really is a book you all should get your hands on (And you should buy the other three in the series too). I am going to read the first three books then come back to Rock With Me. I should be more than acknowledged with everyone then, instead of meeting them for the first time in Rock With Me. But never mind, you get over the confusion and just focus on Sam and Leo 😉

AUTHOR QUESTIONS

1. I know you probably get asked this question a lot, but what made you start writing? Did you always want to be a writer?
I’ve written since I was a little girl. One of my earliest memories is making my mom sit at the table with me with a pen and paper, asking her how to spell the words so I could write my story down.

2. How did you come up with the ‘With Me in Seattle’ books?
Wow, this is a popular question during this tour. LOL It all started with CAWM. I hadn’t planned on writing a series at all, but then I met the Montgomery family, and it was a no-brainer that all the siblings needed their own books.

3. How do you come with the plot of your books? Do the storylines just come to you?
I spend quite a bit of time brainstorming with a critique partner. Most of my best ideas come to me in the shower, of all places. I need to keep a notebook in there. LOL

4. How do you pick the names of your characters? And do you spend time thinking of the ‘right’ names for your characters?
They just come to me as I’m writing. There isn’t a magical formula or any real research that goes into them.

5. Out of all the characters, if you could pick one guy and girl, who are your favourites? Or instead, which couple did you enjoy writing the most so far?
My favourite couple is always the one I’m currently working on because I’m right in the middle of their love story.

6. You still have 3 more books left to write, out of these three, which one are you most excited for us fans to read?
Honestly, I’m excited about all of them for very different reasons. There are some surprises coming up that will throw everyone off.

7. For people who have yet to read the series, would you recommend them to begin with book 1, Come Away with Me, or can your books be read as a standalone, despite the returning characters involved in each book?
I do recommend starting at the beginning so you can follow the characters through out the series.

8. Your books involve some pretty hot sex scenes, do you get hot under the collar when you write them?
LOL Sometimes, sure. My characters are passionate, and their love scenes reflect that. Plus, the guys say such amazing things during sex! Swoon!

9. Do you have any more projects in the work after you have finished this series?
I have another project that I’m just now starting. I can’t really say too much about it yet.

10. Have you thought about who you would like to play each character if your books were made into movies?
That’s such a wild fantasy, and there are so many characters. I do have favourites.

11. And lastly, is there a deep, dark secret that you would like to share with the rest of us 😉
If I shared them, they wouldn’t be secrets, now would they? 😉
