How BEAUTIFUL is the Misbehaving cover? Like seriously. When it got dropped into my inbox, i was at work at just sat staring at it. Head to the side, gazing longingly at the couple and the romantic feel to the photograph with the sun and the water behind them… I really need a boyfriend HA.

Anyway, I am an utter fan of these new UK covers because, let’s be honest, the US seem to have the good ones, but we are getting there and Simon & Schuster/The Hot Bed definitely took that into account when re-designing these covers. I am in swoon mode and i cannot stop staring at every single one of them. They are just so *sigh*.

Let me know what you think of the covers in the comments. Are you a fan of the new designs? I can hands up say i most definitely am.

——————————————————–

My Review

“You’re my all-in Della. I’ll throw it all away for you. I just want you. I’m all in, baby. This life with you, I’m planning on us.”

I firstly want to say, I am crying writing this review. I didn’t long finish the book but I cannot stop the tears from falling. God, my heart is in my throat, I have a massive lump in my throat and the last couple of pages just tore a new one in me. It tore my heart apart and it still is. So I’ve been sat here for the last 15 minutes trying to write this review and give the book and the series the justice it deserves.

Abbi took my through the motions of the second book – I was smiling, laughing, swooning, I was grimaces at the misunderstanding, crying my bleeding eyes out and trying to work out how I was going to get through it and sighing at the end at Della and Woods. This couple will be one of y favourites because they go through so much together – but in the end they always find a way back, they always find the strength from one another to carry on, and the strength deep down inside themselves too. Nothing in this book is simple, because there is so much the characters go through, but they will get through it, with the help of each other and their friends and in a way, its simple with that amount of love.

Simple Perfection begins where Twisted Perfection ended. We all know Wood’s father died and now Woods owns everything – from his family home and the club house. At 25, its a lot of responsibility to now be in charge, but he knows he can do it with Della at his side.

But when Della thinks she is a burden on Woods, she loves him too much to carry him down so she leaves. This begins the heartbreak for both Woods – who desperately wants and needs Della back and for Della who thinks that Woods doesn’t want her. Throughout their time apart, Della grows stronger and finds out some things about her past which helps her move forward. But what happens when she had Woods are reunited? Are things all rosy or is there devastation in their way?

Woods tops my book boyfriend list. He has since Never Too Far when you could see just how much of a sweetheart he was to Blaire, how much he was there for her when Rush was being a dickhead.

With his father deceased, Woods has so much more on his plate, with running the Club and also protecting and making sure Della is okay with her night terrors and kept away from the bitches that are Angelina and his mother. Woods goes through a lot – he doesnt grieve for his father, he just has a lot of anger towards him. His love for Della is sometimes completely smothering and although he wants to keep her protected, she feels that she is just a burden so when he is taking to Jace about his mother, Della misunderstand whom he is taking about and runs away with Tripp.

We see Woods in despair over this. You can see how affected he is that she left, how much he loves her – she owns his soul and how much he wants her home with him. He doesnt want anyone else, she is it for him. Woods is definitely different in this book, but he goes through a lot. He has lost his father, technically his mother, Della runs off and there is something else that happens that will tear at your chest. We see him depend of Della when she is back, after having her back in his life and then having his life turned upside down again, she is his rock throughout everything and in a way, it was time for Woods to grieve, even if it was for a completely different reason. It was time to see his walls fall down and for Della to be there for him, like he always has been for her.

Throughout everything they have been through and still are coping with, the ending was a little light relief from the heartbreak and the emotional events of the book. It was nice to see they had their happy ending together and they were strong enough to fight whatever came their way.

Della, as we know, didn’t have the best childhood…hell she reverts into herself when she’s in an overpowering situation or if a memory is triggered and she suffers night terrors where she’ll wake up screaming. Woods’ parents disliked her, Angelina is a raging bitch and after everything Della goes through in the book, she most definitely thinks that she is not worthy of Woods’ love, that she is not strong enough for him and she is holding him back from finding true happiness, she knows, or at least thinks she knows that Woods’ doesnt need her ‘crazy’ around. She is holding him back. And after hearing a conversation, which she definitely misunderstood, she knows he doesnt. She loves Woods more than herself and that is why she has to let him go.

Despite shouting at Della through my kindle, I understood why she had to go. There was so much hurt and things to sort out in her life that she had to go away and believe she was strong enough and worthy enough to have Woods’ love. We watch her grow day by day….grow from that tormented girl we see throughout the first and part of the second book, into someone who is slowly coming to terms with her past and finding out she can stand alone, can be alone and that she is willing to fight for what she wants, and that is Woods and her life in Rosemary. She becomes confident in herself and stronger that she has ever been. She is coming to terms with not waking up screaming, and that is a big deal to her that she is slowly healing from her horrific past and opening up to Woods about what she went through. Bit by bit she is becoming the girl we all knew she could be.

My heart broke at around the 85-ish percent mark. Seriously, I couldn’t swallow, tears were rolling down my face and I knew this was the moment! I had this spoiled by a twitter user a few weeks back and although knowing what was going to happen, I didn’t know how it happened. Holy crap though, I was (and still am) an emotional wreck. No joke, you will sob your little heart out, feel the pain of everyone involved and still feel it after the book. It really has stayed with me after. I always say that the books that make me cry are the greatest….holy shit yes. I dare you to make me sob and Abbi certainly did that.

I absolutely love The Rosemary gang, but I have to say that Woods is my favourite. If you have read my review of Twisted Perfection you would see just why and that love has only intensified throughout Simple Perfection. If you have yet to be introduced to this series and the gang, go and buy them all…right now. Go on, off you go….

Twisted Perfection (#1) – Abbi Glines

17333880Synopsis

Life outside of her house was a new experience for Della Sloane. The dark secrets of her past weren’t something she ever intended to share with anyone. They would never understand. No one would ever get close enough to find out. There was always a chance she’d go crazy sooner than they expected…

Woods Kerrington had never been one to be attracted to fragile females. They seemed like too much work. He wasn’t in it for the work just the pleasure. A night full of naughty fun had been exactly what was on his mind when he’d laid eyes on the hot little number that didn’t know how to pump gas and needed some help.

What he didn’t know was she was as fragile as they came.
The carefree girl who spoke her mind and didn’t care what the world thought of her was more breakable than he could ever imagine…

My Review

“You are mine. Do you hear me? You are mine, Della Sloane. I will take care of you. Nothing is taking you away from me. Nothing.”

RIGHT OKAY!! Before I begin my gushing, GET TWISTED PERFECTION NOW! Seriously, this is definitely a 5+ book, I would give it the world because I was completely hooked. I read it within hours and only put it down to pee. Yupp, you wanted to know that really.

I love Abbi Glines. The Too Far series were the first books I had read by Ms. Glines and I was hooked. I would recommend reading this after Never Too Far and definitely before Forever Too Far as some of the storyline entwines in FTF.

Twisted Perfection is my favourite book out of the Rosemary bunch. As you will see in my review, I LOVE Woods. Like completely adore his character. He is not what you expect him to be and after reading NTF, he took a slice of my heart but now, hes got it all.

Abbi surely knows how to write a book where you just cant put it down. She makes you feel. Yes, feel all these emotions throughout her book and this book is deeper and darker than the Too Far series, but that is what I loved about it. There was so much in this book, emotional and mental issues, trying to be free, trying to find yourself, trying to do what is best, demons…. You will laugh, you will sob, you will swoon, fan yourself, become irritated and shout advice and abuse at characters through your kindle. I cant express enough that Twisted Perfection is twisted perfection.

You become addicted to the story, flicking pages until you are at the end and looking at your clock thinking “Where has the time gone”. You will read this book in a sitting, not wanting to put it down and wanting to know how the ending will happen. Will there be a cliffhanger so I’ll panic until the next book? Will it all end happily? Read it and find out for yourself.

We first meet Woods in Fallen Too Far. He had an interest in Blaire and I wasn’t his biggest fan as I wanted her with Rush. But then in Never Too Far I completely loved him. His friendship to Blaire was just so cute, he was there for her through everything and he won me over. NOW, now I am so flaming happy he got his own books, because, and I’m sorry, but I love him more than Rush. Yupp, you read that right. He won my heart. He’s embedded in my heart.  No word of a lie.

He is a hunky, sexy, possessive, loveable guy who you just want to have sex with and then want him to make you his everything – like Della is to him. He’s thoughtful, always putting everyone’s needs before his own, especially Della’s when he finds out that not is all it seems with her, he wants to help her out, wants to help her move forward and move on from her past. He loves her with everything.

We know Woods works in the Country Club for his dad so he can take over the business one day, but this poses a major problem along the way. He craves the freedom that Della has and he craves her too but hes stuck and struggles. He wants to take over the business but he doesn’t want the path that is being chosen for him and he wants Della but if he wants the club he can’t have her. What is a boy meant to do?

At certain points I was shaking my head at Woods, hoping and praying he would see the light and tell his dad to stuff it, stuff everything – to not be a puppet anymore and have his life dictated anymore. It really is a big decision because really, this is all he knows, working hard to be the owner of the club, but when Della strolls into his life, she switches everything upside down and makes him really think about what he wants.

He’s never really known love. His family don’t extradite love and the only love hes known is his grandparents. He doesn’t think he can love.  Enter Della…

Della stole my heart too. She had gone through so much and still is and I commend her strength and her will to live, to find herself in the world, to carry on and power through every scenario thrown her way. She has been sheltered all her life, shes naive and innocent to the world around her yet she craves to find herself, find where she fits in and it took her a lot of courage to do things alone, to travel alone and try to forget about her past.  But despite that, there are certain things that trigger memories from her childhood and that is the scary part of being her. She zones out, gets trapped in her mind and memories come flooding back.

It was pretty freaking scary to see Della introvert into herself when her past floods back and it pretty much scared the crap out of Woods too, who witnessed it more than once. This should bring her down, but she powers through it, her strength grows with every obstacle in her way and trust me, with Woods’ dad trying to get her away from his son, she faced a hell of a lot with that one.

Della is caring and innocent and she craves intimacy. After that one night with Woods, it opened her up. She wanted more, she wanted everything offered to her and she wanted everything Woods would give her. She boasted confidence but inside she was just a scared little girl. When she tells Woods about her past, I was so grateful that he was there for her, wanting to help her through it and let’s just hope everything works out in the second installment in some ways.

The chemistry between Della and Woods is instant. From the first meeting you can see the attraction to one another. And even after four months apart when Della rolls up at Rosemary, the attraction is still there, probably even stronger than before. Woods has been thinking about that night and their one night stand was obviously so much more to both of them as they are taken aback when they see each other. But there is a dilemma; Woods is to be engaged to another girl in order to take over from his father. He doesn’t love the girl and all he wants is Della. But this is his life; it’s all hes known despite not wanting to follow his father’s commands anymore. It’s hard enough seeing Della everyday and knowing he can’t have her…its killing him.

Della throws Woods completely. What he thought he wanted, he no longer knows. He doesn’t know what to do, all he knows is he wants Della and shes been embedded in his head from that one night they shared.

The sex they have, Jesus Woods, you are such a dirty talker, I loved it! Dirty talk to me anytime baby 😉 He really is a man; he knows the right things to say and definitely knows what to do. DAMN Woods. The sex intensifies their connection and attraction to each other and only makes their love for each other grow stronger. From what we know about Woods, I reallllly wasn’t expecting this, but I LOVED it, I loved being shocked by him and his sexy ways.

There are POVS from both Woods and Della. You all know how much I love the POVS because we get to delve deep into the heads of both characters and that is exactly what happened with these two. We got to learn more about them, their pasts, their presents, their fears, their love, and their feelings. Everything about each other that the other was thinking. God, it truly made me love each of them more and more.

Twisted Perfection really is different from the Too Far series. It delves deeper into emotional and mental issues, darker pasts and fears. You watch two people who are seemingly lost, find one another, help one another and find love together. They find their purpose in their life.

There is no relationship cliff-hanger but there is a small one to do with Woods. It will be awesome to see how their relationship progresses throughout this small matter and how they survive with what is going to happen. When they finally sort their shit out, it turns around but the love these two have, they can jump through any hoops and obstacles thrown there way. God knows there are a lot in this book and it only made they stronger and more in love with each other. You know they will stay together no matter what.

So hurry up Abbi, I neeeed book two now and I neeeeeed to love Woods and Della even more than I do now. Woods has stolen my heart, and hes in my head and by god, I need him in my bed 😉

My Review

Okay, so if you have read my reviews on Fallen Too Far and Never Too Far you will see that although I did like them, I didn’t love them. Fallen Too Far was okay, Never Too Far was better apart from the ending that killed me but Forever Too Far!! Yes, this is my favourite book of the series. I absolutely relished it. I couldn’t put it down!

Abbi Glines is an amazing author and she really has done it again. She sucks you in to her books, makes you feel every emotion under the sun. I had tears, anger, laughter, I smiled, I swooned, I fanned myself. It was all there and Abbi conveys everything brilliantly. Kudos to this lovely lady!!

If you have yet to read Fallen Too Far and Never Too Far, then I would definitely recommend reading them, so when you reach Forever Too Far you can see their story and their journey be completed in the best possible way. The way they have gone through so much, alone and together, fought battles alone and together and came out stronger and so in love at the end, a family complete will make your heart ache in such a great way. They both deserved it so much.

I’d also say to read Twisted Perfection before Forever Too Far as a bit of the storyline links in with Forever Too Far so you won’t get confused over what is happening.

Blaire and Rush finally have their happily ever after. They are engaged, have a baby on the way and have the most amazing friends but family drama just can’t stay away from  them no matter how much they want it to.

Of course, it comes in the form of Nan and her estranged father and so Rush and Blaire take a trip so Rush can sort this relationship out. But torn between his love for Blaire and the baby and his family, Rush has to decide which one is more important because he will lose one, whether he wants that or not.

Blaire sticks with Rush throughout everything, they have been each other’s rocks, but can she continue to be there when everything is just a mess. She needs to decide what is right for the baby and her.

It’s now down to Rush to make the decision. Will he make the right one and finally put Blaire first?

Ohhh Rush, my darling Rush. He really goes through the motions in this book. Family or Blaire first? Of course it’s got to be Blaire but yano things with Nan are never ever simple and shes on the war path yet again. Jesus can that girl take a break and not be a complete bitch?! You can see the dilemma he has. He NEEDS and WANTS to put Blaire first. She is the girl he loves, shes carrying his baby but then his sister is troubled and he does love her and she needs his help.

You see him make mistakes in Forever Too Far but you also see him redeem himself, think through everyone and see him journey through, making his own mind up about his life now, having enough of being in the middle of his family disputes, trying to get them all to calm down and talk without storming off or screaming at one another. Yeah this doesn’t happen.

You feel conflicted over some of his decision, but then you think “would I do the same?” Yes, probably but I would always put Blaire first and foremost in every thought. You feel proud of Rush for what he does for Nan and then definitely making sure Blaire is number one, like she really should be after all the shit. She was finally his priority. Her and the baby. Sod everyone else trying to get in their way; it was the two of them against the world. God knows it took them long enough.

My Rush Crush definitely grew with some of the things he would say to Blaire and the way he was so excited about his baby…how protective he was over him even though he wasn’t out in the world yet. You could see the love for mother and baby pour off of him and you really do fall that bit more in love with him over this fact. He’s grown up so much over the three books and you just feel like a proud momma looking at her baby. (Thank god I’m not, because Rush can definitely sex me up).

Blaire is just brilliant. You know how much I adore her and her strength from FTF and NTF and she certainly has grown up so much, much like Rush over the three books. Shes  got herself and her baby to protect and look after throughout the pregnancy and all this family drama *COUGH* NAN just made her stressed because Rush was stressed and always running to save Nan from herself. I loved how Blaire was always worried about Nan, despite the need not to be, as Nan is a complete cow but that is what Blaire is about. She’s caring and sweet and has such a lovely soul, but she also knows how to stick up for herself, as you will definitely see throughout the book. That one scene at the beach, OH HELL YES Blaire, you are a total BAMF! Her love for Rush never falters, it only grows stronger with each thing that Rush does. Although at one point I was proud she had the courage to do that thing (HAHA not saying what) but it changes the dynamic and forces Rush to re-evaluate everything and he made the right choice.

Rush really is one lucky sonofabitch. I wouldn’t have put up with the Nan crap like Blaire did but it proves just how much she loves him and a love like this cannot be broken, no matter how much your family puts you through. Their chemistry and attraction to each other only intensifies throughout the book and the fact that Rush is so in love with Blaire and his baby, his protectiveness for them both had me in tears. He was so excited and scared for the arrival of the baby and when the baba finally graced the world, he just didn’t want anyone to hold him, his protective streak appearing. I loved that about him. Blaire and Rush really were the cutest couple with the cutest baby and amazing parents.

Their sex is still steamy. (Not as hot as Woods though – who has my heart) but it was hot and sexy and ‘give it to me now’ sex. Jumping from reading Twisted Perfection sex to Forever Too Far sex was the greatest thing I could have ever done and can those two be in my bed please? BY GOD, it would be amazing. The things these two can do….

RIGHT! Onto the song. I’m sure you all know by now that there is a song entwined into the storyline that Abbi has put on ITunes for us all to download and enjoy. I’m late to reading FTF so when I read this scene, I YouTube the song, and played it whilst reading the lyrics in the book. I can’t tell you how much I sobbed….ugly cried throughout listening to the song and reading the lyrics and how it integrates throughout the three books. It was perfect and showed all of Rush’s feelings and emotions for Blaire which was the greatest gift she could have ever relieved – next to Rush, her friends and her baby.

Forever Too Far also paves the way for Grant’s book and I totally love Grant. He deserves so much happiness as Nan is a psycho. We see his interest but can he go there? He knows who she is now and it doesn’t bode well for him because of Nan. DO NOT PICK NAN, GRANT! We will have to wait and see for his book which I cannot wait for!!

It was such a lush book for finish off Rush and Blaire’s story. I feel like I’ve journeyed along with them throughout the three books, watched them battle their pasts and their presents, fall in love, make an amazing family dynamic with their close friends and both grow into themselves, finally learning whom is the best important in their lives and who doesn’t deserve a chance.

Definitely give this series a go if you haven’t yet. Then fall in love with Woods and Della and their eagerly anticipated second book and then Grants two books too! You too will have a Rush Crush (Even if Woods is top of the list 😉 )

——————————————————————————————————————————————————————————-

My Review

If you have yet to read Fallen Too Far, check out my review of it here, before you read Never Too Far.

Never Too Far starts off from where Fallen Too Far ends.

Its three weeks later and Blaire is in Sumit, living with Cain’s grandmother. She knows she can’t stay there forever; she’s just biding her time to leave and uproot somewhere else. Where, she doesn’t yet know but its not only her she has to think about now.

Rush is still in Rosemary. He’s a complete wreck and he’s missing Blaire more than he’s ever missed anyone before. He’s become a recluse, staying in and not hosting parties anymore. All he thinks about is Blaire and how he can get her to forgive him. He needs her like he needs air to breath. He just can’t live without her but he understands how hurt she is.

When Blaire moves back to Rosemary, Rush takes it as his chance to try and win her back. He’ll do whatever he can to make her stay in Rosemary and be with him again; to forgive him for everything that has happened in the past few weeks. Can Blaire truly forgive Rush, like he so desperately needs her to do?

With Rush heartbroken over Blaire, he feels that he will never see her again. Feels that she will never love him again and never forgive him. He loves her too much to let that happen.

So when Bethy brings Blaire back to Rosemary, Blaire insists it’s only for a few months, to save up some money and then move on to another city. Somewhere where she can leave Rosemary and all the memories behind. But now that Rush knows Blaire is back, he’s going to do whatever he can to win her back.

Blaire is determined not to let Rush back in. Not to let him hurt her all over again when he decides to leave her. There has been too much between them for her to trust him again, but it’s not that easy for Rush. He’s determined to prove that he’d do anything for Blaire, anything to get her back and anything to be near her. Even shutting out his family for her. Shutting out Nan.

Blaire is torn between wanting Rush and needing to stay away from him, but she still loves him and doesn’t know what to do. Does she want him back? Can she trust him again? And add in the hormones and she’s screwed. Literally screwed. Rush is crumbling her wall bit by bit, pulling himself back into her life and she just can’t let him go. Not again.

But then add in a whole lot of drama in their lives. Misunderstandings – mainly on Blaire’s part as Rush seems to be the one who cocks up all the time, and you have Never Too Far.

These misunderstandings could have easily been sorted out if they both talked to one another when they happened instead of being angry before listening to what actually happened. I suppose with so much history between them, it’s hard to fully forget what has happened and to fully trust again. I think this is why Blaire kept jumping to conclusion about Rush. They were all straightened out in the end, and they do get a HEA. They are perfect for one another.

You find out the truth about Blaire’s father, Rush’s mother and the whole story about the betrayal that broke up Blaire and Rush. By Gosh, I was not expecting that all at. I was hooked on how and what was going to happen after that. That truth has well and truly rocked the boat.

Although my love for Rush reached top level, there were some points in the book where I just got so annoyed at him. He kept messing up time and time again. Not on purpose, but it’s who he is. But the one part I got so angry at was at 80% when he screamed at Blaire. Sorry, I know what happened was truly horrible, but she was only trying to be supportive and if I was her, I would have moved back in with Bethy and told him to get lost. Because she didn’t deserve to be spoken to like that and left alone at night.

And then not to speak to her for 7 days, get Grant to tell you how she is and find out that Woods is helping her out. Sorry mate, you should have called her. She’s your girlfriend.

He always redeems himself, but I don’t know why Blaire stayed. I certainly wouldn’t have.

Still hate Nan. What an evil character. She’s a cold, hearted bitch. When that whole thing (At 80%) happened, I literally couldn’t have given a bigger shit about it. I had no feelings about her at all. Maybe I’m the cold hearted bitch, but I really didn’t care about her at all. I also hated that she wanted to know if she would be in the baby’s life. Why should she be allowed when she had been the ultimate bitch throughout her life and to Blaire? I would have told her to Fuxk off.

But Blaire is too nice. She’s too good. She puts people before herself. She cares so much and even though Nan was the problem, she still wanted to know how she was. It proves how great a character Blaire truly is.

Grant. I loved him in Fallen Too Far. But in Never Too Far, hm, I’m not sure now. Yes, he gave some good advice and was there for Rush no matter what but he seems kind of sneaky now. That he’s hiding something from Rush. I can’t wait to find out in his book what that something is. I do have my suspicions over what it could be. I’ll just have to wait and see if they are true.

Now Woods. Oh how I loved him! He’s brilliant. Such a kind, understanding and pleasant friend to Blaire throughout everything that is happening in her life. His book is going to be amazing! I can’t wait to find out more about him and his life beyond the club. Such a great friend and I hope his book makes me fall in love with him a little bit more. He deserves all the love that comes his way.

Bethy. I loved her character. In Fallen Too Far, Blaire guided her and took her under her wings and you can see how grown up she is now. How much stronger she is and how she takes no bullshit from anyone. She can stand her ground even against Rush. I loved her protectiveness with Blaire, taking care of her and making sure she was okay throughout the book. You could really see how great a friend Blaire had in Bethy and I know that she will be there for her no matter what. They are definitely BFF’s.

There was a lot of sex in this book. Got to love the sexy times. And it was even steamier than in Fallen Too Far. Of course, it was down to hormones but hells yes, give me a Rush fix any time of the day. He’d never leave my bed if that’s how he performs during sex.

I did enjoy the alternating POVS. Loved how we got to see Rush’s pov throughout the book. How miserable is was, how much he needed Blaire back, his feelings and emotions pouring through the book but also how much of an utter idiot he was at times. But he redeemed himself and I knew that no matter what, he would always be there for Blaire. Even when it seemed other things were more important, they all added up to spending the rest of his life with Blaire.

I have to say, the ending was a bit abrupt. I felt there could have been so much more to the story and I did get a bit frustrated when it said “The End”. BUT good news, Abbi Glines WILL be writing a third instalment of Rush and Blaire’s story, albeit it won’t be out until late summer, she said, but we will get to see beyond how it ended. Thank the lord! I need more Rush in my life!

There is going to sound so random, but after I finished the book, I led in bed thinking about their family dynamic.  Like Nan and Rush are half-siblings. Nan and Blaire are half sibling (;)). Nan, Rush and Grant are step-siblings. Rush (maybe Grant, kind of) and Blaire are step-siblings. Holy Moly. Their family is super confusing and there are a lot of questions that I have that I still want answered. Hopefully with Grants book and the third book, Abbi will cover them so I’m not going to worry about them right now.

Never Too Far is about a journey. A journey into trust, love, friendship and family. It’s about standing up for yourself and doing what you think is best for you. It’s about forgiving too. I did really enjoy reading Never Too Far and going through Rush and Blaire’s journey together once again. I couldn’t put the book down at all.

I recommend this book to everyone who wants a Rush crush!!

My Review

Blaire has gone through some heartbreak throughout her 19 years. Losing her mother and sister and having her father walk out on them. When her mum dies, she’s forced to sell everything to pay the medical bills and now all that’s left is her truck, a twenty dollar note and her gun. The only living parent she has is her dad, whom she hasn’t seen in five years and now she has to go ask for him for help even though she’d rather not. But when she arrives at the address he’s given her, he’s not there and a full blown party is in its place.

Enter 24 year old Rush. He’s not happy she’s there and has given her a month to find a job and apartment and move out. As grateful as she is, this arrangement has now made her head spin and Rush has since changed his mind about this arrangement telling her she can now stay. But with Rush having a family secret, and his sister Nan, hating her for some apparent reason, Blaire wants to know what’s up, but when she does,  it changes everything!

Blaire was a great character to read. She hadn’t had much life experience since she looked after her sick mum for three years until her death and she has been through so much in her life, it was great to see her stay so strong and focus on what she wants to make something of herself in this lonely world without her mum and sister. She’s never really let anyone in, apart from her best friend Cain, but even then she had to let him go as he wanted more and she couldn’t give it to him. You do see her conflicted in her feelings for Rush. Since he was so harsh on her at times then so nice, it really did confuse her but her heart was still drawn to him, no matter how much she knew if something happened, it wouldn’t last as he is someone to just ‘fuck and dump.’ But she was so, so wrong…

I have to say…it did take me a while to warm up to Rush. The first time we meet him, I found him arrogant, egotistical and ignorant and of course, he was the son of a famous drummer so he had a lot of money to just throw around. That, of course, was down to what he knew about Blaire and her side of the family, so the only way he could act was being an absolute dickhead to her, but underneath his fucked-up ways, I did eventually warm up to him and find that deep down, he was such a lovely guy, but he was just being an asshole to Blaire because of Nan’s – his sister – secret, which no one thought to tell Blaire about until it was too late. I really felt for him at the end. It made my chest hurt when he was sobbing! YES sobbing to Blaire. For someone so closed off, his feelings were certainly brought to the service with Blaire, whom seemed to change is way of feeling. He wanted to be different with her, and he was, until the secret changed everything.

Grant. Oh what a lovely supporting character! I was drawn to him the instant he entered the scene with Blaire and he wanting to help her, unlike a certain brother of his at the start. He seemed like the type of guy who would be there for you, no matter what and would help you out. That’s something that I did like about him. He was willing to help Blaire out, no matter how weird it might have been within his family dynamic as there was a huge secret everyone was harbouring from Blaire.

The chemistry between Blaire and Rush was off the scale. The sexual tension between them sizzled at every turn and you could really see that they were so attracted to each other but Blaire was ‘innocent’ and Rush was a ‘fuck-up’ who thought she deserved more than him, but I was so glad that they both succumbed to their feelings, especially Rush, whose feelings you quickly saw rush to the service for Blaire. For someone who said he wasn’t a ‘kiss and cuddle’ person, he certainly felt that way with Blaire and it made the sex scenes that much more intense and emotional.

The story includes secrets, tragedies, jealousy, twists and heartbreaks. It truly is a book that needs to be read and that cliff-hanger at the end. Jesus! I cannot wait until March for the second book. I need to know what happens now.
