Take Me On (Ross Siblings #4) – Cherrie Lynn

17882692Synopsis

The consequences of a moment can last a lifetime.

Gabriella Ross suffered every bride’s worst nightmare: a no-show groom. Now summer stretches before her with nowhere to go but home, at least until it’s time to go back to medical school.

Determined to prove she might be down but definitely not out, she chucks all her old plans in favor of having a good time—starting with giving herself a pair of wings. Tattooed wings, that is, in the form of a phoenix on her back.

When everyone else at Dermamania chickens out at the prospect of putting the gorgeous, perfect skin of the boss’s big sister under the needle, Ian Rhodes finds himself stepping up. Then unexpectedly connecting with her through tears that have nothing to do with the pain of getting inked.

Attraction flares into one hot night that was supposed to stay that way—single, and secret. But best laid plans have a way of getting blown out of the water. Now two perfect strangers must plan for a very different future…beginning with whether there’s enough common ground to spend it together.

Warning: Contains explicit sex, graphic language, Ross family drama, reuniting with beloved old friends…and a hot tattooed, Harley-riding hero who doesn’t mind being robbed from the cradle.

4 out of 5 stars!

My Review

I adore this series so much and have been waiting (im)patiently for Gabriella’s book to be out so i can get to know her and learn all about her. Since Evan’s book, i have been hooked on all of these characters, wanting to know about them, about their lives, watching them fall in love, deal with shit, and find their happy endings….doesnt hurt that the sex is smooooooking hot either.

Take Me On is about the eldest Ross sibling, Gabriella. She is a nurse but she is studying at Med school to become a Doctor. She lives three hours away from Brian and her parents, but after being left at the alter by her arsehole fiancé, she is back living at her parents for the summer whilst she sorts everything out for the next school year.

Fed up of being in a funk, and with everyone thinking she is spiralling, she decides on getting a tattoo. After both Brian and Ghost chicken out of tattooing her, the new guy, Ian steps up to the plate. What starts off as just a tattoo, becomes so much more for both of them and now they have to figure out what they are going to do, if they can have a future together.

This review will be short and sweet. What happens in the story is a massive spoiler so there is no way I can do that to you guys at all. I would totally recommend reading the other four books too, just to get a gist of who the other characters are because they do make appearances and have a small storyline on the sides too.

As I’ve mentioned, Gabby has her whole life planned out in front of her. She’s going to marry Mark, have children before she is 40, become a Doctor but all that turns to pot when Mark doesnt turn up at the church. Devastated and completely humiliated she returns to live at her parents for the summer. Gabby is someone who likes to be in control – of everything. She likes to know exactly what is going to happen and when this happens, she is most definitely not in control. So she decides to get a tattoo, of a Phoenix on her back. It represents strength and moving on and that is what Gabby wants. What starts off as a tattoo, ends up with her in bed with Ian…and that night changes everything.

I took a while to warm up to Gabby, mainly because I adore Candace, Macy and Kelsey, but I learned to understand Gabby more in her book. We see her tough side, she is blunt, takes what she wants yet she has a vulnerable side too. One that makes her more human I suppose. But even with her vulnerable side, we see her take charge of her life, even if she has to take it day by day and that was admirable when she never does that.

I did like her banter with Brian. You always have that with a sibling and calling each other ‘Little Shit’ and ‘Big shit’ was hilarious. I did grow to like Gabby. Her choices at times were a little bit of a headbang, especially near the end and I was so annoyed at her but I got it, I got how alone she was feeling, how she didn’t know what to do and she just wanted someone, so really you can and cant blame her for what she did and was thinking.

Ian is the new guy, and volunteers to tattoo Gabby after the others chicken out. He’s heard about The Wedding That Wasn’t and heard about her from Brian. He gets the impression she is uptight but holy hell, he thinks she is gorgeous and after a little moment in the tattoo room, they get on great, so great they end up in bed together after a bet at the bar that night.

Ian is funny, he’s artistic, he has a dirty mouth, dirty bedroom moves, drives a motorbike but underneath his carefree vibes is someone who is hiding a bad childhood. He moved from Dallas to make a fresh start and to forget about the pain back home. One look at Gabby and he knows he’d like to get to know her, but she’s off limits as she is the boss’ sister but after that night he is now in it for the long run, there is no getting rid of him.

I adored Gabby and Ian together. They definitely had the connection, the banter, and sexual connection too. Despite the circumstances, you could really see how much they wanted each other, but would they get together if it didn’t happen? Both their lives are changing, alone and together and they have a lot to think about, to mull over…but as Ian said ‘take it day by day’ and that is what they did.

Now, we should all know by now that Cherrie definitely knows how to write a sex scene and HOLY SHIT Take Me On’s sex scenes are no different. They are steamy and sexy and frigging hot. You can see how compatible Ian and Gabby are in the bedroom and they certainly know how to turn it up a notch. Being 8 years younger than Gabby, Ian knows how to pleasure a woman and Gabby knows a thing or two too. I loved reading about these two and how they learnt what they other liked, how to please one another. Age meant nothing to them at all and I loved that!

Cherrie sucks you in in this series. From book 1 to book 4, I have avidly been waiting and reading from the start. You all need to get the Ross Siblings in your life. Watch them all grow with the series, delve into their life’s, watch them overcome drama and watch they fall in love. I love this series and would love another book but if not, I am more than content to re-read again and again and keep these characters in my heart.

It occurred to Macy that she’d even seen a dark SUV parked in a lot dwn the street when she’d left. Shit. Was this really happening?

My Review

Breathe Me In is a prequel to the book Rock Me and sets the story for Leave Me Breathless. If you have read Rock Me then you will know that Macy – Candace’s friend and Ghost – Brian’s friend had a bit of a fumble in the back of his car. The details of that certain event is something we do not know about, hence why Cherrie Lynn has been kind enough to let us in and let us know exactly what happened that night.

This review is going to be short but sweet. Leave Me Breathless is my favourite book of the ‘Ross’ series. Although Ghost is no relation to the ‘Ross’ family, he is Brian’s best friend and has known him for years. The prequel starts with Seth’s POV. There is something about Macy that hes attracted to. He doesn’t know what, but it started when Candace and her walked through the tattoo parlours door (Back in Rock Me) and he found her beautiful. He knows shes intrigued by him too; by the way she was watching him.

Macy had a back accident a few years ago and so the once carefree girl now plays it safe, in life and in love. She is a strong, independent woman but she has all these feelings coming to the surface for Ghost and she doesn’t want it, but she does at the same time. She has this love/hate relationship with herself. Shes as intrigued by Ghost and so when they swap numbers and begin to spend time together, there is definitely something there between them.

Over the course of the book, we watch Macy and Ghost become friends. They only seem to hang out after dark, talking in his or her car, going for drives, talking on the phone and texting and yano, the one scene we have all been dying to know about! The sex in the car between the two of them.

Macy was the instigator of that certain scene. YES MACY! But she has a spunk to her, a spark and although we know about her worries for Candace being with Brian, she is trying to make herself live life, stop being boring and although she doesn’t want to be attracted to Ghost, she is and hes the perfect person to help her live her life.

Rock Me should be read first, as Breathe Me In overlinks with that book, as some scenes are added and expanded from Ghost and Macy’s POVs. We see more of Candace and Brian’s relationship, and we see the friendship and flirtiness of Ghost and Macy.

I was just expecting Cherrie to give us the car scene and that be it…how wrong was i? We see so much more to Ghost and Macy’s relationship. We see it blossom over time, we see their chemistry and we see their turmoil. BUT the car sex, by god that was hot, like seriously hot. How can Macy just walk away from that? I wouldn’t let him go at all.

The ending has made me re-read Leave Me Breathless straight away and dive back into the story of Ghost and Macy, reading their journey once more. I can’t get enough of Ghost, he is the ultimate babe. Where can I find him and his sexiness and his potty mouth?

The ending isn’t a happy one, but it leads you straight into Leave Me Breathless, so if you haven’t read this series yet, what are you waiting for? You will definitely love the Ross Siblings and the heroines and of course, all the steamy sex that is featured along with the great storylines. Get reading them now!

Leave Me Breathless – Cherrie Lynn (book #3)

Synopsis

Leather and lace don’t strike sparks. Or do they?

It’s Valentine’s Day, but Macy Rodgers isn’t feeling the love. Aside from a torrid, one-night fling in a backseat a few months back, her love life has been sorely lacking, but fortunately she has devious friends who feel like playing Cupid. Wouldn’t they be shocked to learn that the match they’ve made for her is the same one that steamed up the back of that ’69 GTO…

Seth “Ghost” Warren has just returned to town after an extended absence. Between his grandmother’s failing health, his job as a tattoo artist, his band’s gigs, and a crazy ex that won’t leave him alone, he’s stretched thin. Cautious cowgirl Macy is the last thing he needs thrown into the mix.

She’s all country, he’s all heavy metal—and Macy knows that if anyone can propel her out of her rut, it’s Seth. But when their worlds collide, it’s anyone guess if they’ll survive with their hearts intact.

Warning: Contains explicit sex, graphic language, road trips, troublemaking exes, emotional baggage, and an unconventional but exceptionally hot hero tatted and pierced for your pleasure…

—————————————————————————————————————————————————–

My Review

If you haven’t read Rock You you will probably be a little confused over who Macy and Ghost are, but this can be read as a standalone, like Rock You and Unleashed.

It’s a year later and Candace and Brian are going strong, their friend Sam has her own boyfriend, and poor Macy is all alone and single on Valentine’s day. It’s also been one year since she’s had sex and that was a one-night stand with Ghost in the backseat of his car but unfortunately for Macy, her friends have played cupid by throwing Ghost in the mix, but they would be so surprised to find out she has already been with him.

Seth or Ghost to his friends has just returned to town after staying to look after his ill grandmother after an extended absence. Between his job at the tattoo parlour, his psycho ex-girlfriend and his band’s gigs, adding Macy into the mix is the last thing he needs but he hasn’t stopped thinking about her since their night of passion and Macy, although she’s adamant they have nothing in common, is highly attracted to him as well.

Despite having all things different; different music tastes, different lives and different views on tattoo’s and piercings, they seem to both be in a rut, and wary of getting into relationships from past ones, even though they both want to find their forever person.

This starts off the bloody hot scenes between them, and you don’t have to wait long, only a few pages in. The sex scenes, which were a lot, totally got to me, especially the phone sex, because that was hot and the kitchen sex. And it’s great to know where his piercings are too, much the same as where Brian’s, which is oh my god! I need to find me one of these tattooed, pierced guys somewhere.

Anyway, it was really nice to read the continuation of Candace and Brian in this book too, as you got to delve more into their love story too. Although they did have some problems during the book, they weren’t necessarily massive in proportion to Rock Me, but it was to do with Candace’s future more than anything.

There is drama within this book, much to do with crazy ex’s on both sides which breaks up everything they have built, but Seth is determined to get it back and fix it, but in the end it’s Macy who fixes everything between them because Seth, as much as he wants to, lets her have her space and time to decide what she wants to do.

This book and Rock Me were definitely my favourites and it’s hard to just choose one over the other. I loved both the stories, how two rich ‘bitches’ fall in love with tattooed ‘hard’ guys, who both have exceptionally hot, delicious sex which anyone would want.

You will fall in love with Brian and Ghost, I guarantee and you will totally want your own tattooed, pierced hunk of a guy to sweep you off your feet with amazing sex.

Rock Me – Cherrie Lynn (Book #2)

Synopsis

Loving him couldn’t be worse than losing him. Could it?

Candace Andrews has had enough of pleasing others. In an act of birthday rebellion, she sets out to please herself—by walking into the tattoo parlor owned by her cousin’s ex-boyfriend. All she wants is a little ink, and Brian’s just the guy to give it to her.

As soon as she submits to his masterful hands, though, the forbidden attraction she’s always felt for him resurfaces…and she realizes the devilishly sexy artist could give her so much more.

Sweet, innocent Candace is the last person Brian expected to see again. She’s everything he’s not, and her family despises him. He doesn’t need the hassle, but he needs her, and this time no one is taking her away. Not even those who threaten to make his life a living hell.

Backed into a corner, Candace faces the worst kind of choice. Cave in to those who think Brian is a living nightmare…or hold her ground and risk it all for the one man who rocks her world.

Warning: This book contains explicit sex, naughty language, tattoos aplenty, family drama, a hot rock concert…and a bad boy hero who’s pierced in all the right places.

———————————————————————————–

My Review

This is book two in the Ross Siblings trilogy and it focuses on Brian, Evan’s brother and his ex’s cousin Candy.

As a birthday rebellion, Candace decides she’s had enough of pleasing others and so she wants to do something for herself, which is how she found herself walking through the door of the tattoo parlour owned by her cousin’s ex-boyfriend Brian.

All she wants is a little ink scratched on her, and she wants Brian to tattoo her, somewhere private where her parents would never find out. Seeing Candace for the first time since he split up with her cousin, he’s attracted to her but knows her family hate him, yet he can’t seem to let her go, so he slips her his number and it all starts from there.

At 23, Candace has lived a sheltered life and is still a virgin, but with Brian, heavily tattooed, pierced in all the right places…yes that’s right, down south, he takes her on a journey into his world where she is accepted and takes her to another world, where great sex is involved.

There’s a lot of drama throughout the book, mostly from Candace’s family as they don’t like Brian because he’s not the typical boy Candace should be with and they don’t want her daughter going out with him because they have a reputation to uphold within their rich social circle.

But although Candace didn’t want to disappoint her parents, she loves Brian and you can understand her frustration. She takes time out from Brian, to make sure he wasn’t some kind of rebellion against her parents and although it pained her, I admired that she did that, so she could think it through.

And with all the drama, Brain and Candace’s love is stronger that anything that can be pushed their way, and there is a lot that could split them up for good, but they stand their ground and come out stronger, not caring for anyone’s opinions because they just want to be together.

Macy, Candace’s friend, tried hopelessly to put her off Brian, but if you read Leave You Breathless, you will understand why she did this. There’s a part in this book where her and Brian’s best friend/colleague, Ghost/Seth get together for a night, and this is why book three is about these two. Although he is no Ross Sibling, Brian is the closest thing to a brother he has, and he has a brother, somewhere.

I really loved this book, probably more than Unleashed because you watch a sheltered innocent girl grow into something that was always there, just her parents stopped her doing anything, and you see a tattooed, pierced guy, who beneath it all, is so kind and caring and will stop at nothing to keep Candace as his.

Love is the most powerful healing force of all. But past demons have a way of ripping open old wounds, and threatening the survival of even the strongest friendship…

Warning: This title contains explicit sex between best friends, graphic language…and a hero who knows how to put the hot in “hot tub”.

————————————————————————————-

My Review

This is the first book in the Ross Siblings trilogy, but you can read the other two as standalones as they give some background on the characters involved in all three books.

Just a warning, this contains a LOT of sex 😉

Kelsey and Evan have been best friends since they attended university together, which was ten years ago and they have always liked each other, but none of them knew and nothing ever happened between them as Kelsey was too shy and Evan didn’t think he was good enough for her.

10 years later, Kelsey is divorced from her husband Todd – who was Evans best friend – because he cheated on Kelsey with Evan’s fiancée, Courtney, which is all kinds of screwed up as Kelsey walks in on them.

With Evan due to have married and it now being called off, he asks Kelsey to go on a week long holiday to Hawaii with him which was supposed to be his honeymoon to kind of rebuild their friendship because since everything came out, it has been awkward between the two of them. Of course, she is wary about going, but she’s been in love with him all these years so she agrees because they both need to get away and relax.

Over the course of the week, things steam up between Evan and Kelsey, but it’s not without its drama, which would come from her ex-husband after he gets into an accident.

This book is filled with smokey sex scenes and my god; they are steamy between the two!
I loved the characters of Evan and Kelsey. They had amazing chemistry that none of them knew what to do until the trip where it all untangles between the sheets and the hot tub.

Although it’s a ‘sex’ book, there is so much more depth in the story. It about friendships and love, and waiting years to finally have the guy/girl you have loved for years.

It’s such a cute story that even if the sex scenes weren’t included, I would still want to read it because I love the whole friends-to-lovers stories. They always pull at my heartstrings.
