One look from Savannah Rae was all it took for Tate Connors to fall.
From the first moment he laid eyes on her, his world was irrevocably shaken. He’s willing to accept that his life will never be the same again, but when she has to leave for New York the distance becomes more than either of them expected.
Tate is left alone with not only an empty bed but also a thousand thoughts running through his head. Insecurities soar as he wonders if he could ever really be the kind of man Savannah deserves.
When the demons of his past continue to threaten the future he so desperately craves, Tate knows he has to make the ultimate choice. Risk destroying his relationship and his family with one life changing decision, or gamble on fate and hope the past stays exactly that…the past.
4 out of 5 STARS!
For those of you who have read Just Breathe, Breathless begins where JB finished and this novella is told in Tate’s POV. Rachel has done a fantastic job of delving into Tate’s head, giving us all he has and his inner thoughts on his relationship, on jellybean, on his past, his future and the present. Rachel is consistent in writing from a guys POV and she does a damn good job too!
In Just Breathe, Sav is off to spend a month in the New York office and that is exactly where Breathless starts, just in Tate’s POV instead of Savs. Rachel definitely makes you fall even harder for Tate, especially when he begins to think about Sav and Jellybean and how much they mean to him, how he cant live without them.
We see the alpha male make a comeback and he decides, on a whim, to go to New York and surpsie Sav. He can’t wait another second to be with her and Jellybean so with only his wallet, passport and the clothes on the back of him, he boards a plane and jets off.
I loved his nervousness on the flight, the romanticness (yes, I can make words up) of just upping and going to see the girl who stole his heart. We all know what Tate is like, but in this book, we really see all his different sides. His flirtiness, his cocky side but also he habours deep insecurities within and he is so afraid of things that just wont or havent happened yet that they cloud everything he does. You can see just how utterly in love he is with Sav, but he is so scared of her just leaving him and it doesnt help that he is so jealous that it is beginning to piss Sav off just a smidge. You can see he would do anything for her, but he really does need to sort out his issues and insecurities about his past before moving forward with Sav.
We see so much passion and love between Sav and Tate, I just hope that everything can be resolved after that BLOODY ENDING! I cant believe Rachel is evil enough to end like that, but I definitely showed us just how much Tate is not going to let Sav go and will do whatever he can to be with her. It really was emotional and I got angry and wound up and ended up screaming at my kindle.
It doesnt help that FUCKING CHELSEA is back. She can suck my massive dick for the shit she has done. Seriously, I wanted to just reach into my kindle and kick a bitch….okay, so much more than kick but I wont go into specifics. Just…you will hate her.
I definitely loved being a part of Tate’s head, his reasoning’s behind everything, knowing his anxitites, how scared he is but most of all, how infatuated he is with Sav, how really, she saved him and brought life back to him, brought a new hope and a new ray of sunshine from his darkened past.
I just hope Rachel is lovely and kind enough in Breathe Again to make sure everything is resolved and all the wankers can piss off and leave Sav, Tate and Jellybean be. I cant wait to see how Tate and Mr. D dotes on the little bean. Ohhh he’s gonna be an awesome baby daddy!

Rachel Brookes is from a coastal town on the east coast of Australia where beaches, kangaroos and surfers roam free. She writes angsty love stories with a pinch of craziness, a dash of drama, a cup of romance and a spoonful of sexiness… oh and the main ingredient hot guys.
Rachel sometimes forgets to eat, sometimes forgets to sleep and sometimes can’t remember the last time she cleaned her apartment but that’s because she is in a long term relationship with her laptop and is constantly writing.
When she does step away from her laptop she can be found taking too many photos, making scrumptious cocktails, laughing at Adam Sandler movies and spending her time with her amazing family and friends.
With her first novel, Just Breathe, released in July 2013, her dream of releasing a book will become reality. With another three books already taking up her mind, she cannot wait to start this crazy ride.
