Synopsis
Kyla has tried so hard to be one of the boys. She was always like a little sister to Tag. One summer, things changed from sibling teasing to blazing sexual tension. When they’re reunited for a two-family reunion, the desire and lust are still there, simmering below the surface.
Tag is a pro hockey player who is cynical about women. He knows they’re only interested in him because of who he is. Kyla is an attorney who’s still trying to be “one of the boys” at her law firm. My Review
Kyla has always wanted to be one of the boys since she was a little girl, trailing after her two brothers and 4 surrogate brothers in the form of the Heller boys every summer at the lake house. But one summer, when they are all teenagers, after years of teasing her, something changed and both Kyla and Tag Heller saw something more in each other, and that’s when everything turned awkward for them.
Now 10 years later, the two families are reuniting at the lake houses for a week long break since everyone needs a break from life and the feelings of lust and desire for each other are still there.
Tag is now a pro hockey player and since his ex-girlfriend cheated on him with a friend, he’s very cynical about woman. He knows they only want him because of his status and money so in turn; he’s not looking for a relationship, just some fun and he’s looking forward to a week off his schedule to relax.
Kyla is still trying to be ‘one of the guys’ as she wants to make partner at her law firm. When she sees Tag, all her feelings rush back and she’s after some fun too, not a relationship, more focused on her work life than dating. She’s even sacrificed family time to focus on her work, and because of this she begins to have panic attacks over the stress of everything so this break would do her good too.
With all these feelings being pushed to the surface when they see each other, and because they are now both adults, they agree to a week long fling, but to hide it from everyone as Kyla is afraid if their parents knew it would turn bad between everyone. But a week long fling with Tag Heller? Who wouldn’t agree to that? Especially as she’s always had a crush on him.
The sexual chemistry between them is steaming, and Tag’s bag of kinky stuff doesn’t stray or shy Kyla away. They both show each other how to have fun, both in and outside the tent that Tag is staying in and he shows her what she’s been missing while putting her work life above having fun, and she shows him that she’s not like all the other girls – since she’s known him for years, she doesn’t even bat an eyelid that he’s ‘famous’.
The sex is literally sizzling and they both know how to please one another. But despite agreeing to just a week together, you can see how each of them are fighting their feelings for one another and that when the week ends, they aren’t going to be happy to be apart.
It’s a book about childhood crushes, friendships and a lot of sex. It even better than it includes hunky sports player! Definitely read if you’re looking for books including friends becoming lovers.
